Only reason I cut that much is long travel.

How was the fitment? That’s very inexpensive.

I haven’t creeped your build yet but I’m intrigued by this cowl intake as a snorkel alternative.

37s and lots of travel...had to do alot of work to the firewall and stuff in the front for them to clear bump and lock.

Beauty about 37s....you can find em cheap cause 6100 trucks have to use em per rules..just got some race takeoffs for 75$ a piece and they look new still

I’ve been lazy with the build thread lately. The intake isn’t in there.

That link Randy provided is it though.

That's the route I'm going to eventually go. I'm not a huge fan of the snorkel look so this is a cheap alternative and good middle ground as far as intake protection.

I dunked my truck over the head lights once, which caused a myriad of problems, but water in the intake was not one of them

It looks like an even better alternative once you cut half of the intake hole off lol.

Does the cowl drain well? My only concern with running the intake to the cowl is what happens when water runs up the hood

When you go through the cowl, the intake is about half way up the side. Your cabin air intake is basically on the bottom, so if you go that deep, you will be getting water in your cab long before it goes into your intake
