    I could dig it, as long as I get to keep my big 4x4s. To offset the Latino-ness of me driving that thing. I'd take it to the park and b-ball courts on Sundays and show it off to my homies

    So speedy, I reluctantly pulled my starter (I just did starter contacts and plunger like a year and a half ago). Nothing looks or looked off or amiss. But pushing the plunger and then messing with the Bendix you could feel as if two decades of brake dust could be jamming up those fine mechanical tolerances. So pulled the brushes and stator and armature or whatever those are all called and blew them out and put just a lil Teflon grease on the Bendix gear etc. Reassembled and the Bendix no longer has that little intermittent catch like before. Installed and starts great. Glad I didn't junk it. The Koyo bearings in it still are smooth as butter and brushes still had lots of life left.
    You were spot on with your diagnosis

    Glad it was a simple fix! I helped @Digiratus do his starter on the V6 the other day and those bearings that support the Bendix had exploded and launched their BBs into the bellhousing. So I suppose that's a maintenance item, I dunno why but I always assumed it was supported by a bronze bushing not ball bearings

    You definitely sit higher with mine, and probably any that have power. The seat pan is just thicker through. I tend to recline my back a bit more to compensate. I have actually thought about removing the double thickness in the floor pan at the front, and redoing the rear brackets to get it lower, but probably won't, as I have gotten used to the difference now.

    So the 22re is acting up. At idle it seems to be dropping down in rpms then going back up, then low again, high again etc. Like its lugging itself out. Drives fine though. My first thought is a failing alternator but what do I know :notsure:.

    Check the idle screw and see if its still got an o-ring. does it only happen when brakes are applied?

    Idk havent really played with it much. Just noticed it coming back from a drive. So I guess it only does it when hot.

    Super easy to put a meter on and check voltage to put that theory to rest. But I bet it's vacuum or idle control related. The idle control on those is a PITA and there's tons of feet of vacuum line

    The idle has been an issue since day one lol. Im leaning more towards vacuum now. It was doing it after a drive so I guess it being hot is a factor.
