I'm having trouble finding seat covers for an 09, seems 08's don't fit and my dealer can't find any for an 09. I could get custom leather for a $1000 all said and done but thats to much for me right now. I've tried some universal covers with no luck. Anybody found a nice set that work for an 09.

This is my first toyota and after seeing the back seat of an 08 access cab, I'm kinda bummed they changed them for 09. The 08 fold down flat which is a nice option IMO.

I can't help with you the seat covers. :(

But what's the difference in the rear seats in a 2009 Access cab and the 2005-2008 ones?

I kind of like the little center console between the seats, but the sub and the folding headrests just look ridiculous.

I'm not sure you can get covers for the 09's because of the air bags.

Yikes! I don't like the new interior! I might have to get a double cab when I trade mine in in a few years!

    Thanks for your info!

To the OP, I hope your question gets answered!

Ya the rear passenger headrest are ridiculous! I don't know what they were thinking when they thought these headrest would actually be usefull except creating giant blind spots when there up. The rear center console pretty silly as well. Who's gonna sit in the back often and long enough to actually need their own center console unit.

On the 08's they fold down flat and I could sleep back there no problem. Now thats usefull. Also when folded down flat you can store much more cargo if you did'nt want to use the box.

Anyhow, No seatcovers cuz of airbags!!!! Oh man, what will Toyota come up with next. I sure hope they come out with a product for us soon. Seems kinda silly to me to not provide seat covers for us to purchase.

Anyone wanna trade an 08 for an 09?

Maybe the 2010 will get a revision if enough people complain. :p

I read somewhere that they can fold down when not in use.

Edit: And now that I look closer, it looks to be true.

ya they fold down, thus making the access cab that much smaller.

Is the sub in all new access cabs? It looks kind of...dumb.

It doesn't blend well. There were so many better ways to do that.

Yea, the center console in the back was one of the reasons I was hoping to get an '08, but I was still comparing different vehicles at the time. I'd rather have the extra storage/sleeping space. I got my favorite Toyota color (Magnetic Grey), and side airbags by waiting for the '09's, so I'm happy.:)

I don't think the Canadian ones have the Flux Capacitor... I mean sub woofer, which I'm glad about 'cause they's ugly. Of course if it was a real Flux Capacitor I would live with the uglyness. :D

I'm kind of thinking of taking the head rests out. They're pretty ugly when folded down, and I can always put them back in for the 2 or three times per year that I actually have people in my back seat.

Wet Okole??? They've made them for seats with airbags before & probably have already done a new template for new headrests etc, that's what pays their bills and there are lots of tacomas out here!! I love mine and an added bonus is a live person answers their phones!!!

Okkine, at a Dealership just North of Toronto I checked out an 09 Access Cab, and it did have the "Flux Capacitor" sub. It was a Canadian truck.

Hmm, you're right. My '09 brochure does show it. Maybe I was looking for other things when I was test driving. Or I could just be outright blind. :D

I'm about ready to order Okoles'. Does anybody have them on an 09?

Also, does anybody know the difference between Okole half piping and just regualar patterns? Their descriptions aren't that helpful

In half piping, you can pick different outside colors rather than black which is what comes with the regular pattern. So you can have a solid cover like all charcoal. The piping is a bead which outlines the cover's seams which again you can do in different colors. At one time I had charcoal covers (which are like a dark grey) and half piping colored black in my tundra. It was pretty sharp imo especially with a TRD logo.

Now I have just the regular black outers & taupe centers in my tacoma. No piping. I like it better only because I found I like black outers (it shows less dirt) and I can slide out of the seat without getting caught on the piping. Also don't forget to ask for a console cover. It works well against keep the top safe from my dog's paws.

As already stated, the seat covers are not compatible with the side curtain airbags that are standard on the '09s. That's why they're not offered for the new models. Do not put a seat cover on there!

I have the SR5 package and I don't have the flux capicitor sub box thingy. It kinda looks like an Xbox or something mounted up there.
This is good to know, I'm gonna call them tomorow and see what they have to say about this seatcover/airbag dilema.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
the big difference is the active headrests in the front...at least for the DC's. all of my seat cover pieces from the 07 fit to the 09 except for the front headrests. they are WAY bigger than the ones on the 05-08's
