I just removed my last post....didn't make much sense. I think I'll order the set from Venomrex unless you can see another set or type would work better?? Keep me posted with what you choose and how it works. Thanks so much!

Those are the same dimensions as the ones I bought with gorilla. I dont think those will work. Wish I had took a picture when I had them test mounted but there is small space between the threads and the wheel and I think a standard lug is going to be the way to go on these. Your options are open on whether you want to do a spline or standard socket though. Both a standard wall 19mm and 21mm socket fit in the wheel.

They still have the conical seat but the holes in the wheels which the studs come through are just a little smaller than any aftermarket wheel I've seen.

I went with the aforementioned Gorilla XL's, and they worked for me. Three full additional revolutions over the Venomrex lugs that got, at least in my humble opinion, a very iffy 5 1/2 revolutions to full torque.

@NIKE5ZOOM 's problem is obviously legitimate. I'll be pulling my lugs for the f'ing 3rd time tomorrow to see what's up. If mine are as they appeared to be when they went on, I'll pull a wheel and mic the ID of the lug holes. The lugs are what they are. If the XL portion of the lug lost 2mm, there wouldn't be anything left but thread and no structure.

I'm feeling your frustration, believe me.

1st Venomrex sent my Ford lugs, forcing me to buy some junk lugs at the tire shop to get the rims on temporarily. Venomrex then overnights me the right lugs along with some bling for the trouble. (kudos to them for attempting to make things right) During the installation of these, I decide 5 revolutions just isn't enough for me to feel comfortable off-roading with these wheels. Ergo the XL's get ordered, torqued to spec and I finally felt comfortable.

    Now this.

    I'll post up my findings... : /

So this sucks. The situation is exactly as @NIKE5ZOOM
    describes.
I torqued all 24 of the XL lugs down to 80 ft lbs as they slowly sunk into the nice soft rim beneath them. And, despite being torqued to spec, without the seating of the conicle lug properly mating with the rim, I LITERALLY backed out all 24 nuts with a standard length 1/2 in drive ratchet with very, very, little effort. Highly unsafe condition, and while I'm not happy with the situation, I'm incredibly happy @
Jellero gave me a heads up to NIKE5's findings.

Not sure where I'll go from here, the Venomrex lugs are back on for the time being. The XL lugs have almost certainly squished the aluminum down around the studs, likely necessitating some mallet action the next time the wheels are removed. (At which point I'll likely have the wheels machined to accept the XL lugs)

Glad that we got it figured out. Would've been quite destructive for you to lose those wheels while driving. I've got some 19mm lug nuts standard length coming in the mail so I'm gonna run with those. luckily you can machine those out a few more mm and remove any damage if it's bad.

Edit: I sent a message to Venomrex so hopefully in the next version of these wheels they open up the seat a couple more mm so ET lugs can be used. And hopefully they add to their site that currently the ET lugs aren't compatible.

Did you go with hex or spline nuts?

I just went with a hex. Both will work fine. Just whatever your preference is on looks.

I think that the wider body of a hex will look better and take some more space in the bolt holes. But thats the only reason I'm going with those. Pretty nitpicky haha. Should get them in midweek.

Nice wheels. But... needs more negative offset to push wheels further out IMO.

Would be great if Venomrex or Airborne22 could respond with an official professional opinion. I’ve been running the Venomrex supplied lug nuts for 1000km - no issues personally.

So help me understand what is happening here. Are the Venomrex lugs not long enough to supply a proper seat? Or are the holes an odd size to not allow aftermarket lugs to seat?

They seat fine, it’s just the wheels are too thick (or stock wheel studs too short) so the nuts only grab 5ish threads of the stud. I think the issue is trying to find a proper ET nut.

    From Venomrex..."
Glen, thank you for reaching out. This issue has never come up and this week we’ve had two separate inquiries on it. I’m assuming this is for a toyota? They are infamous for having short studs actually. We have passed this info along to our engineering department and are looking to get to the bottom of it. At this time I do not have an ET lug nut I can guarantee as this issue is new and in process of being researched. That being said - our Venomrex Tacoma TRD Pro is Driven daily without any issue using our standard acorn seat lug nuts. "

As mentioned in NIKE5ZOOM's post #158, the use of any XL lug nut will require a small change In the present design of the wheel.
There's simply no room for the 'XL' portion of the lug nut to fit in the stud holes.
