Thanks! Yes, I used the brush that came with the polish. I applied a thick first coat into the grooves and let dry. Wiped down the excess with nail polish remover and repeat x 5. Then once the grooves started to hold the filling I applied lighter coats so it’s easier to wipe off the excess without picking up what I already applied. Most important part for me was to wait for the coats to fully dry before proceeding.

Yep, and have been trying to come up with a logo ever since. I'll probably just hire somebody on Fiverr at some point.

Also been trying to come up with a name for the shop/business, since the IRS made it pretty clear that is what I am now. I guess Trailbreaker Customs makes the most sense, but that potentially limits future endeavors. Hrmph, I guess that is why people hire professionals for these things.

Yeah, as if they didn't already take enough from me.

I made out this year, startup costs will give me tax breaks for the next 15 years or so ... and no net profits yet, so I owed nothing. This year will probably be different, though. They sure make it easier to start something, but then the wind is quickly taken from the proverbial sails.

(oh, I was farther behind on TGT than I thought ... just finished Mongolia this morning and watching the final epi tonight).

Just play that game, esp with raises. When you hourly rate crests a nice comfy spot, it's time for new equipment. Keep them on their hills. If big corporations don't have to pay, why should we?

    Pretty freaking epic episode, huh?

Just throw the word “fabrications” or "customs" in their somewhere and you’ll be good. TB Customs has a nice ring to it. If you go with that name my only ask is that you build me a SS w/knurled delrin ring knob on the house. LOL

Honestly Rick, with how nice your work is you could call it whatever you wanted to and be good.

I accept your challenge. "Ermahgerd, Sherfnerbs!" might turn some folks away.

I'm really good at coming up with names that I shouldn't use. Dad jokes can only get us so far.

I have to say after driving the truck a few times after installing the heavier knob, rowing through the gears is so much nicer with a more positive feel. You folks who ordered today are in for a treat in a few weeks.

@7r41lbr34k3r Can you tell me the approximate weight of a V2 MT stainless steel hybrid knob with Delrin core? I'm thinking the 850g weight of solid stainless is too much for my taste. Thanks!

    615g.

If you decided to add a delrin ring it would be more like 500g.

Actually, I was planning to add the delrin ring, I was just trying to keep my question simple. So, thank you for the added detail; 500g sounds perfect. Placing my order now.

Okay, everybody has been contacted and most even got back to me already.

11 total for this batch and we're locked again unless somebody steps out.

Going forward, after this batch is complete ...

My current style of ordering will be no more , well ... for a while anyway. I will continue to make them behind the scenes in my down time and post them up for sale when complete.

I have a busy summer ahead of me, and it would be unfair to have your money for extended periods while producing at a relatively slower rate (as some other knob manufacturers like to do, ammirite?).

I do plan to use some of that additional time to develop new product. There are many ideas, but nothing really standing out to me just yet.
