interesting. I vaguely remember seeing in a video there were bungees or straps to help pull the sides in, but I don't see any of those.

if you go with the high country get the smaller one, because the big one is well, huge. it'll overhang by a foot

 

there's 2 sizes to the high country, afaik. I was looking into it before i got my CVT.

My only regret with my Tepui is not getting one with an overhang over the ladder/attachable annex. That’s about it though.

Those are to help you climb in. There would be separate bungees that you would connect to help pull in the fabric when closing it. I don't know if they are included.

 

Not sure why I thought no rainfly at the beach was a good idea. Got the tent a little damp last night when the fog rolled in. Stayed dry though. First time with the MtShasta and I liked it. The overhang was nice when wanting some fresh air and privacy.

 

Your GF is going to pay for it?

 

asked a friend and he said his didn't come with bungees either...his old tent did. kinda sucks, tucking in the fabric when the tent sits so close to my cab is really difficult, but I'l get used to it

 

if you're expecting the bungees to help alleviate that step, you're going to be disappointed.

"help" is a relative term. They do something, but not much in my experience.

 

also this weekend i had one of the bows slip off the pivoting mount inside the tent. The wife did not like me folding it up on her so she could put the pole back on the pivot mount

that guy over-engineers everything and it's actually pretty amazing. I really like his anti-theft brackets
