Thanks for your post, I hope everyone appreciates this and the same for what Mat does. I too am in the Military (28 yrs) logistics, so I understand missed deadlines (no fault to my own) but we do our best. Damn people this is just a tune, no one is getting shot at or put in danger.
Mat gives projected releases but shit happens. We either deal with it or move on. Bitching and calling Mat out is NOT going to help the release at all. Sit back and have a cold one and give it a few more days. Most of us have been here long enough to understand "soon" and know that shit happens, wait it out then when it does drop just be happy Mat is still around and hasn't moved on.

Is anyone else experiencing idle surge caused by steering input while backing? Mine is becoming really pronounced since going back to 87 Base tune.. I thought the TSB addressed that?

Mine (04A61 87 perf) surges at times, usually when cold, with steering input either backing or forward. Factory tune has it and the TSB didn’t fix it. Dealer says it’s normal. Who knew?

Yours sounds exactly like mine. I noticed it prior to TSB and tuning, but it subsided after updating. It seems to be showing up again. Should have known it was normal.

Depending on the "severity" of the idle change, it may very well be normal.
If it happened right or recently after flashing, normal, and will go away

My (150-200 rpm at low idle) surging on steering input has been present since day one, although I didn’t notice it right away. The 87p GL tune did not make it any better or worse.

Should I open a ticket with you or just treat it as normal? It doesn’t appear to be a huge concern.

Had the AC on the other day for the first time and hated the slight cycle ON/OFF RPM surge it invokes. I enjoyed being ignorant but alas now I know it is there. Someday I will greatly enjoy my fully electric Taco or Rivian truck

I would guess about a 3-400 rpm jump. I am only about 600 miles into the base tune. I have previously had 87 Base and then 87 Performance tunes downloaded and didn't notice the surge then. My truck did it before the tune, so not thinking it's your tune.

The fix won’t be released until
@OVTune ‘s 3rd party developer provides the updated flash utility. Mat mentioned a ‘slight’ delay in the process. We’ll know when Mat knows.

I get a surge every morning when the engine is cold pulling out of the garage, and once in a while after restart at like a gas station when I wait to pull out. I've just learned to live with it. Don't really bother me that much. Just worried me when my daughter drives it .

AC and power steering surge happens on the stock tune… would people rather have that small annoyance or have the idle set at like 1000 rpm so it doesn’t happen?

do you give the engine 15-30 secs to warm up where the rpms will naturally drop from 1100 to about 600? You can literally hear and feel it after about 20 secs
