I'm glad it worked out for yall.
Folks can hunt any way they want, within the law. Don't matter to me. I am just speaking for ME and I will not use a decoy. I do not want to kill a turkey that was fooled by a plastic turkey. When strutting decoys first came out, my wife gave me one for my birthday. I used it exactly twice and promptly gave it away. Both times, turkeys got sight of it and ran to it. I might as well have not even had a call. That's not my idea of fun turkey hunting. If it is satisfying for you, then have at it.
You and I just play a totally different game...and that's fine.

Saw my first full blown bearded hen this season. It was thin, but a legit 4” beard. Saw her after shooting hours. Never saw her again.

That’s awesome! Can you guys shoot hens in the spring? I’m pretty sure in VA it’s gobblers only in spring. Fall is another story!

I’d love to see one in person one day. Also I’d like to find a double bearded gobbler also. That would be really neat.

No action bird wise but I found where several had been last evening after the snow fell lol I love tracking a strutting Tom in the snow just picturing them all puffed up
Sun came out, snow melted, I posted up, called a little and catnapped til I had to be out of the woods. Didn’t hear anything lol
