If this version sells enough, and someone wants to work together on developing one, then sure! :) But for now, its just this standard, double cab roof rack :)

Anyone want $100 off and want to go measure their truck for me? Looking for 1-2 people with calipers to measure a specific spot.

Specifically here, both sides at the middle mounting point.

3rd gen here otherwise I would. I don't know how much of the geometry has changed through the generations.

These look awesome! But as far as “cheaper/Affordable ” aren’t these pretty much the same as most others? Personally I would opt for black so with a windscreen it’s at $650 plus shipping correct?

This looks like a great product. I really like the fact that the rack can be removed easily. I have an access cab. Can you make a version to fit it?

    Thanks,
    Jason

    Yep, $650 plus shipping.

Thing is, the "standard" version is a VERY feature rich and tough rack, and at its price it is one of the cheapest options for a rack, let alone one this strong, customization, upgradable, and easy to install and remove.

Sure, once you get the premium black version, it adds up, but my goal is to fill a gap around the $500 mark to have a good option for racks for people. :)

Thanks! Yeah, I probably will after this first run, I'll just have to find someone local (dallas) with an access cab to do some R&D with.

    More updates!

SO, Weirdly... Thanks to help from a few people I have discovered some damage to my roof which has caused a 1mm offset on the channels between the drivers and passengers side. This caused a day or two of issue but I think we have it sorted now at least!

Fun news! I've got some of the "final prototypes" done in the final carbon fiber material and they look and feel fantastic.

I am doing everything to get them done ASAP!

As always, thanks for the support and happy to answer any questions!

Top and Bottom section mounted. Slight gap is due to a small production issue which has been fixed already.

Bottom section mounted in place, as you can see it really hugs to roof line to help with aerodynamics and wind noise, as well as rigidity.

Final versions of all mounts will be posted in the next day or two. Still waiting on the aluminum for the rack.... FedEx....

Interested to see how it goes. Very interested to see how it holds up. Any thoughts on weight ratings? They certainly look nice.

Testing shows 400lb+ across the rack, probably way more with the final versions. Shooting for 600lb+.

So far I've put that one in an 8t arbor press and 200lb on the arm and the mount didn't notice. Not sure how much weight that is but I'm guessing plenty.

In a lot of ways, in the right application, these will be stronger than aluminum, and stronger than mounting styles like the prinsu rack overall.

    Cool, keep us posted. :)
Is that last rail just in front of the shark fin on the double cabs?

An access cab will require drilling several holes into the roof with pretty much any rack like this. This is the reason a lot of companies don't make them and a lot of people don't run one

Still waiting on the aluminum. FedEx has marked it as missing. I'll probably just order more and deal with that later.

We've been working for a few days on building a "universal" mount. Thanks to everyone who has been helping out!!

It turns out that everyone has a slightly different sized roof "channel" and the bolt holes are all in a slightly different spot too, so I've been fighting to come up with a mount that still hugs the roof line, providing strength and better aerodynamics, but will have enough acceptable "wiggle room" to allow the mounts to fit in any size channel.

The channels seem to range from 25.45mm to 27.4mm from all our testing, so I've been designing the mounts to now fit in anything from a 25mm to 28mm channel, and being movable for all bolt holes while still being rigid and tight, a real challenge but I think its perfect now.

Everyone will get a strip of high density foam/rubber tape that will fill any potential gaps. If you have a 25mm channel, you won't need tape, 26 will need one strip and 28mm will need 2.

Please note, this does NOT effect the strength of the mounts, it is a very small area that is slightly more narrow than original, but wasn't taking load anyway. Simulation shows negligible loss.
The tape will simply be to stop water or dirt building up in the small gap.

Hopefully we'll be taking orders THIS WEEK!! :fingerscrossed:
REMEMBER. If you WANT one asap, vote "hell yeah" in the poll and I'll PM you, or follow this thread.

If you're pretty sure you want one, vote "probably, just want to see more photos" and I'll PM you once the photos, mounting guide, box contents and final order specifics are up.

Thanks again to everyone for their support, it really means a lot to "little guys" like me!

Awesome stuff! Is the 22in light the widest you plan on making? Also from the pics it looks like might loose some lighting to the sides, anyway to push the light forward but keep it below the rack line?

    Thanks!!

Wind panels will get some work, and yea, you'll be able to mount them further forward! That was just an example render. Wider light bars will also be possible per request.
