That’s where I looked. Unfortunately my local Home Depot sucks total ass. Ace has always had what I needed or something close enough, and you don’t get bent over on metric hardware like HD or Lowes

Oh, don’t misunderstand... I support my local Ace/TrueValue 100%. I just wanted to offer additional info for those who may have something different in their backyard.

Oh no I’m not saying you don’t, sorry that’s lost in my text. I’m just frustrated my HD that is literally a 1/4 mile from my house sucks so bad. They literally didn’t even have GE Silicone II which I just didn’t understand. And didn’t have any stainless metric hardware in the sizes I needed. I usually prefer Lowes but the nearest one is 25 min away.

However I actually like the bolt caps I ended up with than the 3/4” Hillman plugs. The bolt caps sit recessed down in the light.

What is the hardware size for the BD models? The hardware that came with the BD lights is not screwing into the individual holes in the housing.

I am also having issues routing the wiring through the housing. I got the middle one through after I stripped off some of the heat shrink on the BD wiring, but I have no idea how I'll get the wiring from the two outer lights since there is not really access back there.

i Made the holes for BD hardware slightly undersized so all you have to do is put pressure as it self threads into the plastic. The 2 outside wire holes are a little tricky for routing. I suggest a coat hanger or bendable solder to fish though first

Thank you sir! I had a feeling that might be the case with those holes because it seemed really close. I put some pressure on it and was able to thread all of them successfully. I've got the three middle lights mounted and now I'm just working on the outside ones. I'll find something to fish through those wire holes first, but it's looking really nice so far!

@cruiserhead did an awesome write up a few pages ago on post #2155. It's for the KC version but it's basically the same install. I used a zip tie to run through the wire holes a few times and that made it a little bit easier to route the wires. This is how it sits for now:

Has anyone shown how to take the headliner down to remove third brake light? Or instructions?

Just a heads-up for those of us who have the housing but not the KC cyclones yet - the red cyclones are out of stock (I guess this is an example of the TW effect). I messaged KC about it and a rep said they should be back in stock after 4/26.

I’d like to try the headliner way if possible. If not I guess I’ll do the drill method.

Yea, it’s not that bad and I still have a 100% functional OE sitting on the side.

Which lights are better? KC or the BD. I ordered the BD5 because they have a cleaner look but be see some KC5 and they’re beginning to grow on me :notsure::notsure::notsure:

Has anyone tried to wire the cargo lights to the reverse lights?

    Better is what aspect..
    Better output(LUX?)
    Better light spread?
    Better mounting?
    Better power consumption?

I actually sent 1 of every major brand rock light(BD, KC, TRS, LUX, VLED, etc) to another forum member on here and he will be conducting a very in-depth test on all of them. I think you will find the results very interesting :D
