At least three folks in San Diego are patiently waiting for the ability to buy the extra tailgate bracket... Infighting on when mod day would be has been held off until we have these in hand. For now, we're still alive.

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this Bolt-N-Lock Bracket & Rod is to bring more functionality and conveniency to your 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma Full Tailgate Pop-N-Lock Harness Kit. This is accomplished by a specifically designed bracket and rod that bolts on directly to your OEM Rear Camera with No Drilling. Yes. No Drilling!

PRODUCT DETAIL:

Custom bracket is made out of 1/8” aluminum for extra strength. Bolts are the OEM Bolts that Toyota provides for you As for the custom rod, it is made out of stainless steel and hand bent to the right size to make it all function flawlessly.

I took a look at the Pop & Lock Kit and saw that they go for between $90-$100 it seems. I really wasn’t sure what to list this for but just wanted to get my money back, pay for shipping and make just a couple dollars for my time and I’m good. I figured meeting in the middle at $95 would be a good place given the fact that with $95 you get the following: PNP Harness, Integration Harness w/ Wire Loom, Tailgate Actuator with Hardware, and now the BNL System.

@KTJO 4x4 how do we get payment out to you for the bracket and rod? Same way? And should we wait until you give the go ahead? This is great!

 

Give me maybe until tomorrow to restructure this layout a bit and I will make a post when I’m ready. I will take payments the same way. I placed a order for 100 of these BNL for now. If they get close to selling out, @tacodnr wull make me another batch and I’ll pay him for some more.

You’ve done such a good job with the kits @KTJO 4x4
My only suggestion would be to use better quality crimp fittings. Mine came out during install. I had some solder style ones laying around so it didn’t bother me. But maybe heat shrink or get soldered / shrink end connectors?
That’s my only complaint. And it’s not the end of the world not changed. Thank you for getting this all done for us!

 

Wow! So after drilling and mounting your original kit, you guys are gonna undo everything and replace it with this bracket and rod?
I just put mine in over the weekend. It works great and I hope to never have to open up the tailgate again.
Now, if this bracket and rod would have been available before I had the kit, yes I would have bought it. But my holes are already drilled and filled with a great working product. And I still have my $30.

Ps. My connections were good and tight! Looks like she fixed that.

That forth pic concerns me.
I know from experience that 1/8" aluminum doesn't bend to a 90* angle well without stress cracking.
Looks like that what you have there.
I realize that there's not a lot of stress 9n the actuator but id be worried that that's a failure waiting to happen.

 

@KTJO 4x4 - I sent over payment for the full kit on Saturday. I think I'd like to upgrade to include the bracket as well. Could you confirm if you've received my payment?

I am using a softer alloy of aluminum that’s more bendable at 5052 and not 6062 . Bending it on a turbo bender one by one set for 1/8 . The production bracket has more room around the camera and less material on the bend line points .

 

That right there, is a thing of beauty!
