Hmmmmm, we might have to do it lol. Big problem will be the turbo setup. My ARB bumper will protect the intercooler but restrict the airflow

 

I'm sure there's adapter plates for the transmission

 

the trans mount is a simple spacer. as for wiring, custom harnesses are avalible to make it all work with the factory stuff... you can do a 2jz gte swap for probably 5 grand if you shop around.... thats not bad for the power you would get

 

the tacoma 5 speed will bolt up to the 2jz. at least im pretty sure.. hell the 5vz bolts up to the FWD transmissions.

 

But it would be in the wrong place, have to do pusher fans on the rad and can't use a thick rad. The taco has a baby engine bay and inline 6 take lots of space. It almost needs to go into the firewall a bit

its 3.19 at COSTCO in hawaii, its about 4 dollars elsewhere.

Maybe, those harnesses aren't cheap and the only cheap 2j is gonna be an older ge. Not all those kits can use the vvti either. I'd imagine you'd want boost so then you're in for the money for a standalone too because the GE computer isn't gonna play along

Costco gas seems to be high quality here.

They probably do the most volume in the state, because gas is so expensive here I almost exclusively fill up at costco.

 

I know you're telling me the cons of it......but your killing my dreams of more horsepower lol jk

I am almost all positive all the gasoline is one company in hawaii.

 

It weighs a bit too much for most things haha. There's a video somewhere of a 1fz sitting next to a 6BT Cummins and they're almost the same profile and similar weight.

you want horsepower? should of bought a 3rz and turboed it.. cheaper.

5vz can make power. but you gotta pay to play. sometimes i wish i had just gone the 2jz route.. would of cost less in the long run.... but i love my 5vz


in other news we had a 98 4runner traded in... 5 speed manual v6 4x4.... i was going to see what they wanted price wise.... annnnd it sold in 2 hours.

You can boost the 5VZ but that's spendy too if you want it to actually pay off well. Otherwise it's gonna be like everyone else's SC build where 90% of the time it's ping City and 10% of the time they aren't complaining about it.
