Where is the location of the Sirius antenna on the 3rd gen? My previous Entune basic radio didn't have Sirius and the new premium does.

I saw a post about the last gen location under the driver's side kick panel.

    any insight is appreciated.

    thanks!

It’s in the shark fin. If you live North you may have spotty coverage. Be sure to test it a lot before signing up for the service as it is expensive for both not beta Le to control the programming and poor reception. I got very poor reception even in open space on clear days to the point where talk radio cuts out enough it’s pointless. I have abandoned It and Entune for Apple Music and podcasts via Bluetooth directly. In Mass. Apparently Sirius is saving money with fewer satellites closer to the equator so the further north the worse it gets. And Entune just sucks.

Thanks. Do you know where the cable is, though, on models that don’t come with SIRIUS? I’ve searched high and low on the forum, to no avail.

the cable goes down the passenger side A pillar. but an SR may not be wired for it. pull your H/U and see if theres an unused connector back there.

Thanks again. Just pulled it and found the antenna cable. There's 3 wires, from the shark fin that go into 2 wires to the stereo. It seems like the 3rd wire is a coax. Is there a different wire, after the harness for upgraded models? Cheers

Looks like you have the antenna but need cable to the radio. You can go to the dealer and they can get you what you need.

It definitely does. I just hooked up a new wire from the A pillar to the head unit (antenna cord sub-assembly above), as the last previous cable didn't have the satellite radio connection. The head unit isn't recognizing the antenna. I'm totally perplexed

you hooked up a new wire. what kind of wire? where did you get it? are you sure your "new " xm radio works? do you get AM/FM reception? are you working in your garage? Im not trying to be insulting just trying to cover the obvious stuff.
if you got the proper cable hooked up from the connector at the A pillar, if your sure that the satellite receiver works, if you get AM/FM reception (that means the antenna is getting power) then it should work. the sat antenna needs a clear view of the southwestern sky for reception.

I have a two story house with the garage on the north side. XM completely drops out when the truck is in the garage.

Thanks for the help. I've driven the car all over, within a 100 mile radius now and still no reception. I replaced the wire harness in the pic below. The one is the pic is the old one, that didn't have the Sirius cable in the harness. Do you think the new one can be bad? The AM/FM works perfect

Not sure if you ever got resolution on this but at least with my truck (2019 SR) the sharkfin antenna DOES NOT have the xm antenna inside it. I am wanting to do something similar to what you are doing and took the antenna apart to make sure. If you look at parts diagrams it shows 2 different antenna models. 86300-04080 and 86300-04090

Interesting. I’m motivated, again, to get it working. Let me know what you come up with for a shark fin.

I have purchased a OEM Chevrolet XM antenna for $10 that I am going to mount on my roof. I also ordered a Fakra K extension cable to run from the antenna back to the radio. I am planning on mounting the antenna in the passenger front corner of the roof.

So I have completed my antenna install. I wound up using an OEM Ford F150 xm antenna that I bought from a dealer for about $30. Paired with the extension cable and adapter it works perfectly and the reception is amazing compared to those crappy magnetic antennas. I mounted it on the roof right above where the passengers head would be. Much cheaper than using the factory Toyota antenna and redoing the wiring.
