My buddy is looking at a lifted Trd Offroad 2019 and I told him for the price theyre asking for it, he might as well buy a trd pro. Because for the price i feel like the suspension is way better than the suspension in the one lifted from the dealer.
Here's a link to the lifted truck

The same lot has a Voodoo blue Pro in stock.

How much is it? Didn't see price on the ad. Also, how much for the PRO?

True that the suspension is probably better on the PRO. (Can't see the suspension on the OR but most likely just spacer lifts).

and on top of that it may even be a spacer lift.
looks like it. the pro is 46k.

He says he doesnt need a pro so I just told him to test drive the lifted one and the stock one. Cause odds are they didnt regear for the larger and heavier tires. Now i know that isn't necessarily needed but it helps.

Why not get the offroad without lift and put aftermarket lift then tune it to the way he wants? Still cheaper than the pro

Everybody knows that lifting the OR + new wheels and tires will still be cheaper than the PRO .... except the PRO owners

Your friend is an idiot. Back off and let him make the biggest mistake in his automotive buying life.

If you talk him into the Pro, every issue he encounters will be your fault, if he buys the Fubared OR you can smile and say "I told you so" when he wakes up and realizes he got fucked.

Yep, that truck looks to have 1.5" or so blocks in the back and spacers in the front for lift. He could buy a TRDOR and do the same for about $200 and some wrenching.

I wouldn't do either one. Get a stock TRDOR at close to invoice, put $3k into it for a real suspension, have a better riding and more capable rig than either the Pro or stock TRDOR, and still wind up with a good chunk of cash leftover from what he'd of spent on the Pro at MSRP because of the magic Pro "market adjustment" (wherein he'd probably be lucky to get out the door at MSRP on a Pro).

If he's gonna wheel it and doesn't have money to burn, the TRDOR is the way to go.

If the truck isn't going to see dirt, then I suppose paying $3k for a $200 suspension for the looks of it is okay. Until he bottoms out and busts a shock because the dealer doesn't appear to of installed increased height LCA bump stops on that spacer lifted truck....

Meh, I told him to test drive a stock OR, the Pro, and the lifted one and make his own choice.

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
From what I see- it’s got a drop bracket kit and those look like 35s. It’s a disco truck. I really doubt they geared it either so it’s probably also a dog.

I’d want to burn down the dealership if they’re selling me a spacer-lifted truck at the price of a suspension-lifted truck. If your friend got the money on the pro, then get that one. But as other have mentioned, it’s best if you buy a stock OR and pay an off-road shop to put a much better kit on it than what’s on the Pro’s, and he’d still save a ton of money for other mods.

They should take $5000 off the sticker price of that TRD Off-road because of what they’ve done.

I'm shocked that the dealer is selling a modified truck as new. That is a big no-no from Toyota because it impacts the warranty. There are very few things they can add on like pin stripes and the paint protectant, but that has to be approved by Toyota. Any warranty issues will have to be dealt with that particular dealer. The other issue is financing. No bank is going to loan more than MSRP because the modifications add no value.

I would never buy a dealer modified vehicle. The TRD Pro is the better way to go.
