I love these quotes....but seems like most everything is crappy and built to be throw away now.

I have a 30 month old (out of warranty) fancy new POS GE Profile fridge currently pewcking water on my new hardwood floors and intermittently buzzing like the compressor is going to die. The 20+ year old fridge it replaced is in my garage and works perfect.

That's a good question, at this point I would have a hard time believing it they won't diminish value either via CarFax or factory service records.

So after being told they would document the rejection and to come in at the end of the day, I go in and there no paperwork!

But now they tell me I don’t have to call Toyota to request a field tech and one will be out tomorrow and they’ll get the timing chain leak fixed.

    Round and round we go.

This sounds like the dealer was trying to get out of doing the job all together or to get you to pay for it because they would be able to charge the customer more than what warranty will pay. You called their bluff by asking for documentation, most people would not think of doing that, and now they have realized it will benefit them more to go ahead and do the job. Someone has figured out that you are smarter than the average joe and you are willing to put up a fight, so all of a sudden it will be taken care of. Its not likely the Field Tech will be there in a days notice unless he/she is already in the area. I know our Field Rep covers the whole state of Louisiana, and parts of Texas and Mississippi, so if we need him it is usually at least three days.
I hope they fix it right for you.

Thanks man, yeah I was not pleased to walk in and there was no paperwork. Their response was "it was denied based off photos, but we have arranged a tech to come and inspect it and we'll make sure it gets fixed for you". Not too happy about their behavior.

Sounds like you may want to find a new dealership.

Subaru can suck it. I’ll tell you about the 2009 Outback Turbo XT fiasco where the turbo is starved for oil, blows up and takes out the engine with it.

Well I bought a used 2010 and the same thing happened, so they never fixed the issue. Only saving grace was I bought the aftermarket warranty and good thing I did, the 3rd party warranty company paid for a new engine and turbo.

Kept it for another year, or so and the auto trans was starting to act like it was going and I promptly traded it in. Wasted about $30k on Subaru, never again.

I feel for you OP. I had a 2016 Silverado that had tons of problems. One after another. Took it to three different dealerships and they all refused to help.

Unfortunately at the time I was moving out of state and didn't have the time or the patience to keep dealing with it and I traded it in.

Good luck man. Keep us posted.

Just got off the phone, 24 hours after sternly requesting rejection documentation and they have already had a Field Service Tech in, approved, and they will begin on the timing chain cover today or tomorrow. They go back to troubleshooting the diff-howl and braking shudder once the TCC is repaired.

It really does help to stay calm and be respectful.

Good luck OP & yea that is definitely more than seepage!!! That is when there is a "darkening around a mating surface" not spewing all over everything below including electrical wiring.
