    Hey everyone,

I am from Maine and have lived here my entire life. I am in my mid 20s and ready to explore. I want to live in a western city in the shadow of mountains. I'm hoping to find an exciting, fit, and outdoor focused city. So sell me on your city and why its the best.

FYI I'm posting the same thing in the Northwest forum.

    Don’t move to Arizona..........
Not because it’s not great. It’s because it is the best state and it’s getting too big and too much traffic. Hahaha.

If you move here, I hope you like wind... absolutely the worst thing about NM is the crazy amout of high wind we get (occasional 50-70 MPH is not unusual). Other than that, enjoy a year round dry and mild climate.

No, worst thing about NM is the crime. Auto theft being number 1 in the country. It's not great anymore, new gun laws, too damn demorats
No go to Az. Cheaper, safer, more jobs.

If you're the free spirit type, you could always kinda hop yourself across the country until you find something suitable.

CO if you can afford it. There’s all kinds of stuff here. Outdoorsy stuff. Breweries everywhere. Sports teams. Culture. Respectable Mexican food. Mountains.

But that cost of living though.

I pay $1500/mo for a 800sq ft apt. It’s not a bad place but by comparison, I had a similarly nice apt on the first floor with attached garage in Texas for $825/mo.

This could be a really good thread. It would be nice to see some pictures. There are some really beautiful places out there, wish I could travel more. Lived in the same general area my whole life, sometimes think I should have rolled out when I was younger. However the area I live in, Roanoke VA, is really nice so never really felt the need.

With any luck I'll be selling my house here in the SLC metro soon. If you're looking for an outdoorsy place, Utah is good for it. I'm just not a fan of the culture or people here. And I'm tired of having to smuggle alcohol into the state so I can drink what I want.

Dude, that apartment would be at or close to double that in Seattle

I'm looking at making the CO move this summer. I'm 32 single no kids, figure why not. I'm not paying much less than that in rent right now

I heard Seattle was trying to jack their city tax rates to force all the poor and lower income people out?

I was considering Issaquah. How much worse is it there?

Lololol. Issaquah is...a planned city of upper middle class mostly tech folks. Everything in the greater Seattle area is expensive. Depends on your job/income obviously, but $2k+ a month on anything is normal
