It's an old Sandvik built hardtail that I tossed a rigid fork on and a pair of White Ind. SS hubs. It's stupid light and accelerates like a mountain goat but I'm really thinking about gears at this point. This particular frame predates Disc breaks on XC bikes so it's got Avid SD Ultimates and Mavic 517 hoops so 15 years ago it would have been the dogs danglies. I actually raced it the 2000 race season. That said, it's barely over 20lbs as built and has that magical blend of compliance and snappiness you get from well done TI so it's super fun to ride. IMO, riding bikes like this where line selection was so important and I didn't have endless breaking power made me a much better rider when I would ride my various FS bikes like my Santa Cruz Bullit or my FSR Enduro I owned.

Finding out my 29er fit nose to tail in my 6' box was a relief!

As mentioned, free bed, no issues with paint scuffs on tailgate, carbon bikes. Also... So I can lock my bike, and have dry and secured storage for other stuff in the box, much more secure when driving rough roads.

Picked up the bikes yesterday and even with it raining all day I picked my wife up and we headed out to Antelope Island for a quick ride. We were lucky enough that it didn't rain to much on us, but the trail was pretty muddy with a lot of puddling.

The good ol' Antelope Island XC Sufferfest! Pretty scenic ride though.

Yep. First time mountain biking out there. We usually hike or road cycle. I love taking the road bike across the causeway and down to Garr Ranch and back. Makes for a nice 30ish mile ride.

Finally got the bike mount all squared away. Can now pull a pop up camper and also have my bikes. Used to use a kuat sherpa. The second front loader will be here on friday. REI ship to store is a 2 week wait, if I would have known... I woulda just shipped to my house. Backcountry shipped my first front loader in 1 day. For free. I dont think I have ever had a good experience with REI. Both companies were running a 20% off deal for one item so I ordered one front loader from each. REI kinda is shitty though.

Now everything locks and can be tucked out of the way. Still have full access to the bed storage and all of that. This should work out pretty well, hopefully by end of summer Ill have 34 inch tires on the truck... hope it doesnt make loading the bikes that much harder

Same set up here. The newer bedrock HD is stupidly priced. RTTs are lame AF (my opinion, no offense to anyone that has one) so I have no use for at load capacity lol
