New battery. Pretty common for stock battery to not last very long.

I had a problem downloading last time. I ended up deleting the original file and re-downloaded the flash manager. Worked just fine after that.

My first thought as well. I had it tested and said it was fine and system is charging. Please no responses on this - did not mean to hijack the thread. Just saying that you may not see 12 volts when flashing and maybe consider hooking a charger up to get it topped off.

I've always liked OVtune because he won't push things out just to make a release date. He make sure that they're not going to cause more problems then they create. Toyota met a release date for the Tacoma and we all see how that turned out.

I also have a short commute. 8 miles round trip. My scan gauge is reading 13.48 volts-when running and warmed up.
My original post with the trickle charger was to help and make it aware that the Battery needs to be in good shape when going to flash it. I just checked mine with a multimeter and I’m good to go. Hope to flash it Tomorrow for the first time.

    Weird thing happened today.
Yesterday decided to flash to 87 GL. Was driving today, 90°, slight traffic, going about 65-68. Had ECT on. When going up any incline truck held 6 gear and did not downshift. I was in D mode. Not S. Could not gain speed. I turned off ECT truck downshifted right away.

I’m going to guess it’s due to tune being recently flashed. But something different I hadn’t experienced yet. Thought I’d share.

The GL mode is tied to the ECT button, right?

Yes. But you have to be in S for the “gear to lock”

If you just have ECT engaged while in D, it will upshift but not downshift.

That’s the reason I left PGL and went with straight perf. I really enjoy what ECT does on the perf variant. I also tow once or twice a month and find that GL isnt necessary. I feel like if the truck wants to downshift, it should be able to rather than letting it lug in a higher gear. By this logic, the only good that comes from GL is that I can lock a lower gear, but the stock S mode function does that fine.

I think Mat said they’d be available in a couple weeks. Someone will correct me if I’m wrong. That I know of, no Dyno numbers have been released.

I just checked his website. There’s more info there.
