What’s the reasoning behind avoiding the Wildpeaks? Mileage? I love the all terrain tire look even if it means sacrificing some MPGs.

The michelins will last alot longer for the OP given highway and towing. I guess if he came here and asked for best looking I might have suggested otherwise.

I have towed with AT2's long distances, heavy trailer in all kinds of weather and they rock

is that with just having the 285 wildpeaks? do you have any extra weight?

I am looking to get the 285/70/17 SL rated Wildpeaks (about 50.5lbs going from 265/70/17 C rated ko2s about 45.7lb). my biggest concern is the gearing. I have a CMC planned for the 285s but do not want to regear at all. from some I hear that there wasn't much power loss going to that size and rating of the Wildpeak. The 285 wildpeaks made a pretty big difference for you in gearing?

Not as good as the Falkens, but good enough for the North East. The Falkens were a softer tire (SL vs E rated) and seemed to hook up better. I like them, but I would not buy them again.

Ah that makes sense! I'll put some more research into those AT2's for sure!

The Wildpeaks will be fine for your needs and still give you an aggressive look. You won’t take a noticeable hit when it comes to MPG either. The Michelin’s are a great highway tire no doubt, but if you want something that looks aggressive, is decent on and off-road and doesn’t hurt MPG the Wildpeaks in a SL are a great choice.

How has your experience been with the St tires in the 255 size verse the 285 size I am about to order a fox kit and I just wish that falken made the 255 85 but wondering if I can get away with the to 5585 in the St in the winter here in Utah but also have a more capable tire for offroad as well.

255s are much better than 285s on my truck. They are not noisy, get better mpgs, accelerate/decelerate better, and seem to work better with the suspension than the 285s.
They did pull a little right at first, but corrected with a road force balance. They are best at 30 psi.
They work great in the snow - just not as well as the Falkens.

Rotated these bad boys today...abouuuut 5000KM give or take a few hundred. I rode em pretty low all winter, to have them rotated and at 35 psi, it feels like a whole new ride

Decided to stick with 265/70/16 for now since I'm running stock height and don't want to risk having to deal with a rub. I know this is a Falken AT3 thread, but how would you guys compare to BFG Rugged Trail T/A? I have the Rugged Trail on my truck now (original owner purchased) and have had no issues. Mostly highway/city miles with towing during the summer. Think I've narrowed my search to the Falken and BFG..

Really want these tires. Has anyone put a 315/75/16 on a 7.5 width wheel? I know the approved wheel width minimum is 8 so my 7.5 width TRD faux beadlocks are not in that range.

Read through the first page of this guys build thread. They’re not Wildpeaks but he has 315’s on TRD beadlocks

    Thought I'd ask this here:

When rotating these tires, are you meant to just go front to back, and back to front? or some other pattern? or just go by whatever is in the Owner's Manual?
