Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
I stand corrected. Good to hear there's more options.

In what way are you fighting heat from the SC? Engine coolant temps increasing or something? Curious as I purchased mine just a few months ago so haven’t experienced the SC in hot summer months...

I heard all the horror stories about over heating, clutch problems, premature wear on the engine, burning more oil but I took a chance on mine and I have not had any of those problems whatsoever.

Interesting, I did quite a bit of research before pulling the plug, but the problems seemed to be pretty slim in comparison to how many people had them. Haven’t had a single problem with mine since I’ve had it! Have a bit of maintenance heading it’s way here soon as well.

I did get the 2.85 pulley upgrade and I did get it rebuilt when after I first got the truck and I sure am happy with it!

The supercharger puts off a lot of heat. I monitor all my temps (coolant and trans) with aftermarket gauges and everything increased with the installation of the supercharger. Sure it’s not enough to set off your Toyota gauge but it is higher than what I am comfortable with for engine longevity.

What kind of increase are we talking about?

I went from driving around with coolant temps at about 185-190 to where i was consistently hitting 200+ in the summer. Installed a different thermostat that opens sooner and now I hover between 190-195 without towing. Start towing and it will creep up over 200 Pretty easily. I have hood vents I will be installing this year to hopefully help vent some of the hot air trapped under the hood and am looking at a secondary fan operated with a switch that I can toggle on and off as needed too.

Interesting stuff... I’ll be purchasing a radio soon with the maestro integration to monitor all of those parameters, so definitely interested in what I’ll see...
