I don't know the emissions laws in Hawaii, but if I didn't have to adhere to California's ridiculous SMOG and CARB laws, I would do a turbo instead.

You get more power and expandability for a much cheaper price from a Turbo setup rather than a Supercharger. The SC is nice because it is bolt-on, CARB certified and will pass emissions testing.

Only downside is it's a lot more work to get up and running, and keep it tuned. Superchargers are basically plug-n-play unless you decide to go for the 5th/7th Injector or Piggyback route.

There are no emission laws here in Hawaii

For forced induction I do like the idea of not really having to mess with much, I.e "Bolt on" kit.

    Minus the the little stuff.

I myself, could learn with time about the intimacies of turbo charging, but I am basically a one man show here with no real guidance.

Everything I've ever done on my car is self taught.

Would be going Supercharger 8 psi pully, and water/meth.

If you're going as high as 8 PSI, you'd probably have to run a Piggyback. The LCE High Boost kit comes with an FTC1 calibrator.

I plan on going for a piggyback for Stage II of supercharging, along with swapping the 6.5 PSI pulley it has for an 8 or 10 PSI. I wouldn't go any higher than 5-7 PSI without some kind of tuning though. Stock is 4 PSI.

My 6.5 PSI pulley is already illegal as hell here, I'm bondo'ing the Underdog ID marks and painting it chassis black from glossy red so it appears as a stock pulley to a SMOG referee.

I just looked over the 8 Psi kit and your right about the Piggyback.

There is a lot more stuff I want to fix on the truck before I buy a SC, but it will be an excellent gift to myself. :)

Also thats horrible, they could give two fucks to sunday about what engine or whatever you have going on under the hood.

But you have a tire that sticks out .75 past the fender?

    Dark tints?

    Prepare to bend over.

I don't even know what that thing is supposed to do, seems as useless as those tuning chips which are just an IC and a resistor in a plastic box with weights in it.

This was my thought that water/meth and SC would be enough.

Luckily we don't have safety inspections here, as long as you car passes Emissions the State of California can give one less crap about your car.

It's not quite that crappy but it has a very limited range of tweaking it can do and the computers have been known to tune right around it because they don't interrupt the signals necessary to fight that

They have plenty of Rust in Hawaii, you'll feel right at home.
