Hey man! honestly theres pros and cons to both. My original intent was to get another 4runner [or possibly an FJ] - my gf kept trying to talk me into a truck [as it would be more practical - ie we could use it for other stuff as well] in the end I went with the taco and am glad I did. My old 4runner sat a lot because I only really used it for offroad/exploring/mtns type stuff. I use the taco every week for random crap.

I liked having all the 'interior' storage on the 4runner for gear, I liked the shorter wheelbase [I did a trail this weekend that I had done many times in the 4runner with zero issues and the taco had a tiny bit of trouble]

The bed on the taco makes it way more flexible for cargo you wouldnt want to put inside, but more cramped for stuff you do want inside...

I honestly dont think you can go wrong with either and I am super happy with my choice. I guess it all comes down to your use and what you typically carry. If more interior room is important the 4runner is probably the better option. if you want the flexibility of carrying wet/smelly/trash/lawn stuff/etc in the bed the taco is.

So far I really like them. I had Toyos on the 4runner and they performed well and held up well - probably would have gotten another pair but they didnt have 275/70s
The Coopers have about 1k on them now and they have done great in the bits of offroad I've done. Really quiet on the road. Really heavy and you can tell when you accelerate and brake. I've gotten used to it but it made a noticeable difference from stock. I was torn between these and the Wildpeak at3s.

Hmmm yeah I have Toyo now and they feel heavy so anymore weight than 60-64lbs is asking for too much out of this week 3.5 and I’m regeared to 5.29s smh
