I think you got some strong game going on when I was riding in your rig brother. Def more than a hybrid and I think we were hitting stuff at similar speed...that Gloria took us all in the race though!

Hell yea it def is although it helps ALOT having bypasses! I would be nose diving like crazy without them. Looks like you got some nice goodies on your rig these days?

It’s come along pretty good just put Deaver stage 3’s on the rear with b110’s handles the weight of the bumper and the camper really well. Still doin shit to the camper when I can.

Wow man can’t believe you went with Deaver’s which is pretty rad. How much did that rear cost? Yea man you got a lot of toys to keep up with. Latest thing I got for the truck is a Milwaukee fuel hedge trimmer with a 9.0 battery. The days of getting destroyed on some trail that has been forgotten won’t happen anymore. Top of that now I got a battery for when I get my impact.

If you mean the bumper I got it on a 20% off sale and still $1650 no shipping. Standard rear, dual swingers, dual jerry can holder, flush mount light cut outs, and powder coated black

Most of this just goes along with a discussion we had a couple of years ago. Once I settled on an actual direction I wanted to go with the build of the truck for the purposes it serves then I just put quite a bit of thought into what mods I do so they serve a purpose in the desired direction. All of this was figured out and stressed about believe me. The Deavers are the Stage III's 700-1000 pound springs but progressive 11 thinner leafs per pack. This was to handle the suspended weight of the bumper and spare and also to accomodate for the much added tongue weight of the camper after I did all the fab work chaning it all around to accomodate the fridge.

The Deavers are some thick bitches

Then came the trailer. The bumper moved the hitch point up about 6 inches. i wantd to run matching Tundra wheels on the camper and ended up installing a 2 5/8" lift on it and adapting the wheels. Some how in all the figuring I got lucky and it all worked out. Trailer hitches up pretty level and the Lock n Roll fits perfect. I got lucky

Glad to see you have joined the deaver team as they are beefy in thickness and their performance shows. My original tc rear had them along with my current rear. Yea man I’m glad to see your build has its own direction now and I know it has to feel good knowing that things on your ride have a strict purpose. I did a self evaluation of what I needed on my rig which led to selling the rtt as although it’s a cool addition, just didn’t fit my lifestyle. I’m sure I could get another in time, but once I assessed that I started looking into what I needed as well for future desert runs and I have always had to worry about gas to a degree. Finally being able to utilize my roof rack it went from being naked to having two different platforms for rotopax along with recovery boards that after watching some vids could really come in handy in the long run as well as helping my 3wd till I get new axles.

What’s next in store for the rig or is it almost there? I feel like you have most of the essentials at this point and it looks really good in thought out in its color design.

You are correct I have the essentials. I will pick up some additional recovery gear as what I have is useful but limitted. I will eventually upgrade the front suspension but it all functions well for now. I have a few odds and ends on the camper left but it is also about done. Going to box sections of the frame, fabricate a brush guard for the AC and change the hub assemblies to something I have more faith in. About the only big things on the truck might be a snorkel if I decide to go that route and headers, I had one on the 4cyl truck and appreciated the bennifits.
It appears either what Iron pig did to your rear suspension is working or you had it all redone out there but you are finally able to do with your truck what you had wanted.

Any idea what front suspension you are leaning towards? I recently did my snorkel and honestly I’m pretty happy with it, keeps the dust out and also lets air actually go into my intake again since it sits out in the wind. I think rpm wise it helps just a slight amount, but just maintenance wise it has earned its keep. Think you will keep working on truck when the camper is done? I feel like the projects are drying up.

I'm sure there will always be something just not much big stuff anymore. When I do the front it will most likely be simple gusset the spindles, cam tab gussets, Bilstein 6112's with 14" 650# coils, from what research i have done they seem to be the ticket for what we do. Just simple stuff. The only thing that might spur me into something big would be biger tires then I'd get a regear. I need to get a job first though LOL

Yea nothing wrong with that set up for the front. My buddy is going to start gusseting up his front as well which will only make things more reliable. Wow I didn’t think you would ever consider a regear....35s? Also I thought you were still working?

I am old i like big tires. Everything works perfectly riht now though and I don't know if i want to upset that. Bigger tires may just be a want. I was terminated from my job at dulles 4 weeks ago due to a permanent disability from my shoulder injury i recieved working there. Gotta love a right to work state

Ah man thats a bummer, I know in AZ its the exact same rules in terms of work. I mean if you are getting to the point that someone can crawl over something that you cant or you are scraping your skids then yea it could be time to upgrade. I smacked everything on my skids to the point that dirties are the only thing that made sense which is what made me take the plunge. I fought not wanting bigger tires for a long time.

Doesn’t matter what type of wheeling you’re doing, the harder you go, the bigger tires you want. Crawling they make the rocks and gaps between them smaller and high speed they make the bumps smaller. I’ve pretty much bumped up a tire size with each suspension progression on my build. Next set of tires will be dirty 7’s and who knows after that haha

You split the cost with me and I’ll go straight to 4D’s and skip the dirty 7’s

Oh yeah, already planning on going to 5.29 for the 37’s. Just might have to wait a little while until I can afford it

In all seriousness Im not sure I could picture your ride on 40s. Im sure you will need to trim 1-2 inches off your glass to make sure you dont make contact just for 37s.

Yeah I’m guessing I’ll have to trim especially since I’m trying to find wheels with 3.5” backspacing pushing me an extra inch wider as well
