new trd sport access cab 4x2

i live in the bay area

dealer wants 32k otd + 4.9% interest (60 months). i'm saying 32.6k with the 4.9% interest already factored in. i didn't want a trd sport because of price but it was the only new 18 taco around me so i thought i could get a clearance deal on it. well after dozens of emailing we got to that. i'm sticking my ground and so is he but he keeps replying to me telling me to change my mind so i have no idea honestly. first time ever buying a car and negotiating... i'm in no rush but all i know is i don't want to pay more than 33k, ideally 30k including interest. is this way too unrealistic of me?

I paid 33 for mine, so I'd say no, it's not a good deal. No 4x4 and its access cab? 33 seems like a lot to me, especially for a 2018.

I paid 33 for my 19 trd off road so that price seems pretty steep to me.

thanks guys, i actually only said 32k with interest included but i was thinking of replying with $32.6k. so i guess i'll tell the guy to screw off lol and keep on with my search

and i do prefer an access cab 4x2. i'm on the road by myself 99% of the time. the extra 200lbs payload is far more useful for me

Hard to say without know the exact package it comes with and color but it seems a little high for a 2018. I would use services such as KBB and TrueCar or Costco if you have a membership.

I'd be cautious OP - purchased my '19 off road new at $36k with tax ($34,450 price). Then again, depends also on the region of the country you're in, to an extent. Good luck!

Definitely get some other options for financing through your bank or a credit union. 3% should be easily attainable.

Also look at the invoice price of the truck, you shouldn’t pay much more if any above that. But if it’s a 2018, they should be giving the damn thing away

Paid $34k 4x4 or with tech package for Brand New.

    Very expensive for $33k

i'm in the bay as well and i've seen almost all dealers will give u the 19 off road for 34-35k.
U can go further south to LA or North to OR to get it. Or at least get the price and get the price match

I would expect around 8-10% off of MSRP. depending on how popular Tacoma's are in your area. (Tax and Lic. fees on that) So if MSRP is $32K you should expect to get around $2.5-$3K off that and then tax Lic. fees OTD! The average Employee discount is about 13% off MSRP. So being last years model they should be willing to give you 8-10% off. But it also depends on how many 18's they still have to sell?
Buying a car is never simple!
But the good thing you have options! Try other dealers! Search the internet! Drive to another state if you have to?

    Good Luck!

The cost of a plane ticket could save you a few thousand in purchase price. And you get a road trip out of it!

32k otd in cali is actually a good deal. If by otd you mean purchase price + TTL + all dealer fees = 32K

Are you saying you're paying that price out over the length of the loan? What is the price on the truck out the door if you just wrote a check?

I was able to get them to come from 38 to 32 on a 19 dcsb trd OR, all said and done 34 with all the fees and bs they charge you, however it also included registration for the vehicle for the next four yesrs. That was in Oregon, you may be able to save some money by purchasing in Oregon where there's no sales tax. Seems like a bit pricey for what you've been offered though.

Go in in person and set your demands, if they won't come down as much as you want just head for the door, it's a buyers marketbuyer's market and they know that. I told them right off the bat I'll leave if they don't take off 5k from the sticker price, then got another 500 military discount and 500 rebate so 6k off the sticker in the end

OP, I'd try your luck at Momentum Toyota. They'll hook you up there, I got my 2018 DCSB Sport for 30k OTD from them
