It's all here. I have a 2010 4 cylinder manual that I put a hitch on. I read this for info. I keep it small... utility trailer or log splitter. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-tacoma-towing-bible.4031/

    Morning

Anyone go to the marathon yesterday? Growing up I used to go every year to watch my dad run. Haven't been in years though, even though my office is about a mile from the course in Natick.

For some reason every year of my youth we would go somewhere on the route and hand out water and Gatorade to runners. I believe my dad must have had a friend that ran. These days Marathon Monday is a day to avoid going into the city.

Bens 100 is what I use as well. Time to start putting it on whenever I'm outside I guess.

Thanks for the reply! He did stay on the lighter side and the camper is more than plenty for the 2, however it is closer to the 3500 without gear/people. I will have to pass the information on to him. Plus there is always my curiosity factor! Again thanks.

Two people I know, one being my father, have been fucked up bad by ticks in the past few years. He was basically unable to do anything for almost a year. All activity would completely wipe him out, his nerves in his feet went haywire and it hurt to walk. All his muscles constantly hurt etc... Turns out to be a disease that isn't lyme, but I can't remember the name. He is mostly recovered but I think the nerves in his feet still bother him after 30-40 minutes of exercise and not sure if it will ever go away.

Another friends father went crazy. Literally went to a mental home because he was going crazy and was worried he would hurt someone or himself (not violence but with not being aware of what was really going on around him). After a couple weeks in the mental home they figured it out. As far as I know he is 100% back to full health, maybe with some occasional flare up of joint pain stuff.

These things will ruin your life. Also, the "red mark" and "24 hour" rule that people have lived by forever are total bullshit. There was a study done way back and like 40% of people who got lyme got a red mark too, so they just told people if you got a red mark its a problem and if you didn't don't worry. They have also found out that there are plenty of bad things a tick can get into you in way less than 24 hours. It may be over kill, but if you got a big one on you, go to the doctor and make them test you. More and more problems are being discovered to be tick related when in the past they were called something else and people struggled with treatment!

Supposed to be very bad this year.

    +1 for the Permethrin!

Don't put DEET on anything nylon/plastic. It will destroy it.
edit: you may be talking about the gear stuff they have. Mahbad....

We have them active up here already. Pulled a few off the dogs before putting their collars on last night. Last year we didn't get a single tick. I spent a fair amount of time in the brush off the trails and in the field with high grass in shorts, not one tick. Not even may yet and have had like 5 on the dogs.

brought one dog to hancock after a vet appointment two weeks ago for like an hour. came back with a tick.

Opossum supposedly eat a ton of ticks, I gotta figure out how to make my property an opossum hot spot !

Wow! Yeah, I have tromped around up there a little and have never gotten one on me. Have gotten some in the house before.
This is going to be a challenging season.

Put a dead cow in your yard.

I was hunting in Pa. one year when I spotted a dead cow on the edge of a field.
Upon closer inspection, it appeared to be moving.
A family of 5 "Grinners" then exited the carcass.:deadhorse:

No amount of eye bleach can erase the things I've seen. :puke:

    Morning all. Happy hump day...
Sick for the first time in a couple of years. Had to leave early on Monday afternoon, went home and crashed on the couch until around 10, then got up and immediately went to bed and slept until 9AM yesterday. Got up and ate some toast and drank some tea and went right back to sleep on the couch until around 3, and was in bed last night by 8. I haven't slept that much in forever, but I'm feeling good enough to be back at work today, at least.

    Ehrlichiosis? Anaplasmosis? Babesiosis?

Those are the most common diseases aside from Lyme associated with tick bites.

Came on in a hurry, too. I felt perfectly fine Sunday evening, Monday AM I woke up with a plugged nose, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, and a headache. Took an antihistamine and went to work, trying to power through it, but I hit a brick wall around 2:30 and had to call it quits.

    Don't forget Alpha-Gal.
This one showed up down this way couple years back and comes from Lone Star ticks.
Causes red meat and pork allergy.

I think I'll fall on my sword if I got this one.
