    Just north of the Mason Dixon.......puts you in southern Indiana or Ohio, I'm guessing....Unless you're farther east....

    Well, you could guess, but you'd be wrong.


    I'm thinking of making it down there this summer, but to Orange beach. Dad lives in Birmingham (where I'm from). I hear it is growing quite a bit. I imagine now that the south has the majority of major automotive manufacturing, the coasts are flooded with residents and visitors much more-so than in the 80's ad 90's.

    I'm currently in Indiana, just north of the Mason Dixon as well... takes about an hour to get to KY.

    Destin, Florida has been developing for the better part of 15 years, and that development has started to move west along the shoreline. Then when the oil spill happened in the gulf, the renovation and revitalization brought in a bunch of new visitors. This lead to more and more commercialization moving west. I do believe that for the most part, Orange beach has kept it's locality, as far as retail goes.
