What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

eh never really had issues with aftermarket tie rods. but i usually go 555 for steering components since i can get them from napa at a discount.

 

Heads up, that's a heat shrink ring terminal.

 

Finally did the Tundra caliper swap the other day.

 

Haven’t been posting updates lately.

Finally did the radiator swap and installed the winch at the same time while the armor was off.

 

I have actually had really good luck with using antiseize instead of their grease.

 

Heads up. With as little as the shrink covers, it is an exercise in futility to shrink it.

 

Spend more on a dog box than for the truck??!!

 

I stole the box in my truck from a friend, but basically why would I spend money on something that still works when I could spend it on gas instead

 

Because tow trucks pulling you out of mud holes are EXPENSIVE.

 

I don’t go “mudding”, hard pass on that

 

Deferred maintenence gets expensive. It adds up fast when you don't stay on top of it, even faster when stuff breaks and breaks other things with it.

 

I'm with you, but it seems like the best fishing holes always require you to traverse some.

Dropping the tank is more time consuming and without a lift a nightmare..

Even with the abuse we put them thru? I went with the most expensive master pro available from oreillys. Life time warranty. Every wheeling season i get them swapped out no questions asked. Not a bad gig.

 

Probably not. But still bet they last longer.

I get that way of doing it. But I really don't to swap tie rods, lbjs, and CVS every single year. Fuck that. My time is worth more imo.

...After catching our breaths and with our stomachs satisfied, it didn't take long for us to look for just the right place to try to capture Druid Arch. With the sun behind it, we weren't sure if we could even capture the grandeur, but we experimented with various exposures and settings and hoped for the best.

My guess is that when nature looks like this, it's hard to end up with something unusable.
