Buying a 3rd Gen. I should have gone with the 2nd Gen as clearly it is the better truck since its owners post that statement in this section all the time. I would have been able to be part of the elite 2nd Gen crowd & be able to tow anything with the all conquering 4.0 engine. Maybe my next truck will be one.

    The above post is sarcasm.

Don't forget the 1st genners. I stumbled across a post the other day where they were patting themselves on the back for having 20 year old trucks because of a single issue posted in the 3rd gen forums.

I would be bitter too for having a subpar truck that cost 35k... Just kidding. Each gen of the Tacomas have their own uniqueness and pros and cons. Just poking fun.

Not as bitter as owning a truck that needs a frame due to rust or having headlight lenses that get cloudy as a winter day in Wisconsin. BTW I only paid $30K for my truck & it was Toyota CPO. No way was I going to pay $29K for a 5 year old clapped out 2nd Gen.

Buying aluminum skids was an expensive mistake. If you think you will use them, then you need steel. If you're getting them for "overlanding" and to check a box, aluminum is fine.

3rd gen frames will rust just the same, and the headlights will fog up from UV exposure just the same. It just takes time.

Yup Toyota genetics are passed down from generation to generation. And then mutation happens and boom different problems lol

I'm generally never a fan of opening credit cards to save money.... but in the case of the Goodyear card, it saved me a lot of money too when we put new tires on my wife's Pilot last year. Their rebates can be pretty awesome.
