Since it's dead in here, let's spark a discussion. Maybe. I'm thinking of ditching the swingout, and here's my reasons why. Curious to hear others thoughts on it.

    • Don't need the spare fuel. I just go to off road parks, not alaska. I'll toss a 1 gallon tank in the bed for trips.
    • Don't camp that much, so the fold down table isn't a necessity.
    • Can easily relocate the shovel and axe.
    • That leaves the spare tire. I would fab something up to hold it vertically behind my fridge.
    • It would save weight in the ass end with no swingout or spare fuel (about 110 lbs)
    • I wouldn't need to open it every time I wanted to get in the bed.
    • I could see out of my damn rear window again

I just needed outside validation but I think my mind is made up. I'm still gonna remove it and drive around without it for a few days and see how I like it, before cutting any mounts off.

Just park in Temple Hills for a couple hours and it'll be taken care of by morning.

If they manage to get that padlock off with anything short of an angle grinder, I’d be impressed

So I thought this guy's rear winch was one of those fake magnetic ones....I got closer and he's got a real one in his rear bumper.

    That’s pretty awesome. I wouldn’t mind a rear winch.

Question... would yall feel comfortable running this as your spare? I'm going up to 285s and was browsing for a cheap used tire to run as my spare. Hes asking $35 for both tires. Convenient and cheap but kinda sketches me out, they're worse down to the tread indicators so prolly 2/32 nd or less... they're Ko2's btw

I’d be alright with that depending on its age, if there are any plugs in it, and if you can see the steel belts protruding. It’s only a spare, to be used in an emergency. You wouldn’t be on it for long.
