In great bridge. I’ll be near this Aldi. It’s a really nice area and I’m excited to move to a house with a cul de sac and a garage.

 

We are not separate from the universe though. We are part of it...

I'm pretty sure it'll be cirrhosis that takes me out. Well, it was good enough for Gerry Rafferty. I'll finally have something in common with a rockstar and be too dead to enjoy it. *Pours another vodka rocks*

 

Sounds like you need to take some courses and get certified to help others in their recovery process or just goto a few meetings and become a sponsor to a few people.

 

I have a soft spot of unassuming youth. This world takes advantage of the ignorant and we literally do NOTHING to ward off the throngs of deceit.

Kids these days have NO CLUE how to influence each other positively, no clue how to manage finances.

Someone earlier posted something about Dave Ramsey-ing the shit out of their debt. Good on ya. I've done it. It works.


My thought is to somehow put Dave Ramsey out of business. Educate kids early about money and how to make it work for them so they dont end up in situations that they have to snowball out of. I know sometimes it can't be avoided....but, if you are never in debt to begin with, then you never have to snowball out....theoretically.

 

Eventually I just may do that. I still have other things I need to accomplish first. Like move to utah, get back to sellin cars like a madman, and giving my sons someone to look up to.

 

I would have told me to "kick rocks" (late 90's early 2000's) if some nearly 40 year old dude told me to buy a life insurance plan at 18-19 years old. But damn, wish I would have. I also wish I would have known how credit worked, how you can make it work for you and all the complexities of investing. I personally wouldnt have listened...but maybe I would have at least retained that knowledge when I did max that credit card....lol.

 

Hopefully he grew out of that

 

I was a financial consultant for a while (that doesnt make me good with money).
We learned a little bit back in HS economics, but not enough to know better. Most problems start with examples from the parents and consistency in those actions by the parents. Kids are sponges for information, but it has to start early. Say 2nd 3rd grade.

 

I made my decision. I don't want to know. I'd just waste time worrying about it instead of doing something fun.

 

By the by... here is a pic of me and my 2 boys a little over a year ago. I love them to death. Good kids all around.

 

I'm sitting here with a cigarette and a glass of Tito's now. I'd do the same thing if I knew. And just worry instead of enjoying it.
