HP Tuners for 2005-2015

But from what I recall hearing, is that the BullyDog tuner converts the N/A Ecu into a “TRD” version with BD’s tune specs.

That’s why some folks couldn’t go back to their N/A ECU when trying to sell the BD tuner for another tuning solution. And, if that’s the case, if you use HPT to read the BD tune, you’ll get a stock TRD calibration from the “read” process.

 

I started with the Bully Dog when I first installed the supercharger and it is exactly as you describe here.

Don't freak yourself out. It's really not a concern if you take a little precaution to ensure your truck's battery is in good health, you turn off electrical accessories or sources of current draw (Radio, A/C, Fan, Lights, etc.) and ensure your laptop battery is in good health or plugged in and you have your screen saver and other stuff turned off.

I promise you your 2nd flash is 10x easier than the first and your 3rd is about as exciting as taking out the trash.

 

Looking at that graph. Seems You would want bigger injectors if they are at 89% IDC especially at 81% throttle.

Why does the throttle flat line?

 

The way this reads, 81% Throttle is actually WOT.

 

Since it flat lines guess that makes sense for WOT

 

Just for Shits-n-Giggles, here's a truck with just an exhaust (N/A):

 

I'm leaving them. Even if they were at 100% IDC I would leave them in. Call me a rebel, or a sadist. Some men (me) just want to watch the world burn.

Based on that MAF calculation that truck is making 229.51 HP. Sounds right on target for NA trucks.

 

I removed my MAF, cleaned with CRC MAF Cleaner and stored a couple months ago when I installed the Haltech. I never welded the flange in, plans obviously changed. I’ll part with both $57 shipped.

So for those with the TRD tune when we do the read process we are just getting a copy of the stock n/a ecu?

How then so we get the data from the TRD tune? I was under the assumption we would be able to see that data and then fine tune it. No from what I am reading we are just starting with a fresh tune?

 

It gives you the stock file based on your calibration ID. In your case if you have the TRD tune, you’ll get a fresh copy of the TRD tune.

 

Ah. I wondered this too.

 

Sure is nice not hearing the vacuum cleaner every morning when I start the truck.
