    Im the one that runs CO2 for tires. When you're filling 35s its a life saver. Takes 30sec a tire from 10psi to 32. Way faster than any compressor. I still bring my old tiny Vair p90 compressor for backup though if I do run out. Its not too hard to check the tank and get it filled. Usually 20 bucks a pop.

    Wouldn't do Nitrogen. Even though there is science out there that say Nitro is more stable to run in tires...we aren't on a race track. Plus that shit is EXPENSIVE. Good to have a nitro kit if you rebuild your own shocks though.

    A good compressor does the trick just fine though.

    @rkam65

    Like Ben (and most others), I'm fine with an onboard air compressor. My travels generally don't require me airing up more than once a day (and on a good trip where we stay on dirt for a week - much less than that)! I'm OK with 10 minutes to air up in that situation. And, if you get a double compressor rather than the single version I have, it can go even quicker (though, larger-than-33"-tires would of course slow it down). With a bit more time, the cheaper Viair options also get the job done.

    As far as tanks go - Nitrogen is expensive, so the more common compressed gas people use is CO2. Monte (@Blackdawg) uses this whenever he can, and swears by it. Rather than 10 minutes, he can be filled up (up to 35" tires) in about 5 minutes. And a compressed tank lasts him quite a while. I think he gets something like 100 tire fills with his size 40-50 (?) tank. The downside of course is that he also has to carry a compressor in case he runs out in the tank, or he has to rely on others to help fill him up.

    Of course - there's another option, depending on where you're wheeling. You can always go to a gas station to re-inflate. That might mean driving a few miles aired down on pavement, but if it's not too far, and you don't go too fast (keep it around 45mph) you should be fine.

    mines a 20lb tank. wouldn't want any bigger than that. Does last a long time. Especially with 33s. usually a year and a half or so. I won't keep track of exact tire fills..

    It is amazingly fast. I can unpack my CO2, setup the regulator, fill up, take it all apart and pack up before you're done with 2 tires I think.

    So CO2...not Nitrogen. Good to know, and at least I was on the right track. That's why I tagged those 1st gen guys....to get it right.

    All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    I am not 100% committed on this one.
    My friend Rebecca and her friend want to go. Brad said he may come in on Sat. I should

    The weather is not what’s bothering me, it’s the giant pile of boxes of stuff I have yet to install. A fabricator friend of mine is moving out of town in a few weeks, and I need his help on a couple things for the trailer and truck.

    My gut says it’s time to:
    install the OffGrid Engineering Dual Battery Setup, the PowerTray with the two SPOD Bantams, and get going on these brackets I need to fab to mount this AluCab Shadow Awning for us to enjoy on the upcoming trips.

    Ah the list, I see no end in site!

    Gonna take my wife and son up there on Friday and Saturday. Just looking for a mellow place not too crowded or technical.

    Yeah definitely call the Conasauga Ranger District before you haul your bikes/atvs up there. They will close them when it gets too wet to prevent trail damage. And it’s How-Ston Valley, not Hue-ston Valley... Crazy west Georgians haha!
