He got the Alpha. The Alpha XL is the one that goes the whole length.

Shark fin is in the way of where the next load bar would be. They make a longer version that relocates that though.

I think they redid it where it won’t get relocated but replaced with a shorter version

    Hello All,

I have been absent for a hot minute, sorry about that! I accepted a new role at work and that has eaten away at a lot of my time, but I hope to call @upTOPoverland my full-time home one day!

With that being said, I have lots o updates:
    • We are honored to have @boogie3478 be our first second gen tacoma with our rack but also eternally grateful for him posting this awesome overview of our product.
    • We have also installed out first TWO 4Runner Roof Racks. They are full length racks that come in at a whopping 50" x 97" internal dimensions. These use the factory mounting points for the factory rails in addition to another set of feet at the front of the roof that can either be drilled or no-drilled.
    • Micah, myself and a few others are going on an epic 4 day trip to Moab to really beat the crap out of trucks and racks to see what we can break and how we can make it better. We have been working hard to build up our trucks and run a business all at the same time.
    • I have neglected the FAQs, Pricing and Pictures on page 1 and plan on refining and adding to that this weekend.
Lastly, and most importantly, I want to thank everyone of you who have asked questions, expressed concerns and purchased our racks. I look forward to meeting all of you one day when we have our first upTOP Overland meet-up.....more to come.

Sorry i didn't read the entire thread. i just saw an awesome orange taco and skipped there.
Is there a reason why the rack doesn't reach the back of the cab?

Likely because he chose that option. If you’d like the one with the longer rails, there’s an option for that too. Check out @boogie3478 ’s video via YouTube

Yep just like others said, this is the shorter Alpha version but still plenty of storage up there for all kinds of goodies. :D
