How did you ask your wife to marry you?
How did you meet your wife?

This sounds kinda dumb but I thought it would be a good off
    topic thread.

    Looking!
On the front porch of her parent's home, I approached the subject to see how she felt. Her response was essentially, "You had better mean it if you do." Later that night I proposed, and 30 years later, she still lets me come home. :D

I met her when she was 16 at a friend's birthday party (she was his cousin). Took two years to get a date, and then didn't see her again for a year. Then I bought a customized '69 Corvette, and she was the first person inside it when I took it cruising. The rest is history.

I took her down to where we first met (just for a walk and lunch), Got on me knee (Not knowing an ant colony now resided there), and asked her, and presented the ring. She clasped her hands to her mouth, and begane to tear up. Meanwhile, Ants were crawling up my legs, and beginning to sting me. I then asked if she could be a little quicker with an answer, as I was being eaten alive. She said "Yes". :) We went home, and I applied benadryl to the 48 ant stings I had, while she called everyone she knew.....

Did you go back to the spot later that night and light the ants on fire?

I made dinner for my wife and before dinner I got down and asked her to marry me, Simon & Garfunkel was playing on the cd player. 6 years, and two boys later were still going strong.

We were @ Red Rocks Amphitheater (west of Denver) for a concert with Lorrie Morgan, Merle Haggard & Clint Black. My wife was standing in front of me, she turned around to me & I had gotten on one knee with ring in hand and popped the question. 2 boys & 19 years later she's still putting up with me.

It was so long ago, my recollection has faded. On the sofa at her dad's place I reckon.

It's a kind of family tradition to make Christmas stockings for spouses and kids....so I made her one and then put the ring way down in the toe of it wrapped up in a vending machine jewelry ball. Piled a ton of other crap on top of it...and then had to tell her there was more in there. She finally got down to it tho!!

I'm not sure how I got to where I am, but somehow I wonder how the wife let it get this far.

I always make sure to fall asleep after her though...

We were down visiting family and one morning while we were getting ready, a promise ring I had given her a little over a year prior, went "missing". I put it in my pocket and she was frantically looking for it, actually getting mad lol. Well before she blew a gasket, I said I can't find it, but I did find this! I went ol fashioned and got down on one knee, said a few sweet things that I can't remember to this day what I said, and she said yes!.. it was more like a teary eyed shaky voiced yee.. yeeeess! Well my sister had the idea to take one of the Taco Bell hot sauce packets that said: Will you marry me? on it, and squeeze the packet in the ring, then slide it over to her and propose. I thought it was cool, and kinda wish I would have done it, but I don't regret at all how I really did it.

For anyone who hasn't proposed yet, the hot sauce packet is a good idea, that is, if she'd like it of course. If you don't think she would, I wouldn't suggest it lol

While hiking in a petrified wood forest, in Baja California, where else! The Pacific Ocean was in the distance and it was a beautiful day. I got down on one knee and wouldn't take no for an answer! Photos (of the area that day): http://vivabaja.com/206/

you try to complicate everything don't you:D

it was the night before new years eve and i told her we were going to go and get some beer. so she hoped in the truck (98 taco that met it's match with the crusher in the Great Buy Back) Pulled into the plaza where my buddy has his liquor store and parked in front of the jewlery store which was a couple hundred yards away. She asked why we were parking so far away and I asked her to marry me and we went in and picked up the ring. 6 years and 2 kids later she still hasn't killed me
