Coverking spacer mesh

Has anyone seen this type of seat cover? I am interested to know how well this type of material protects the original seat fabric. Kinda looks like neoprene on the website.

Is not anything like neoprene, its like a open mesh type fabric, it allows the seat to breath, but it will not protect the seat from spilled drinks etc. I like it.

 

Thanks for the pic. I am morstly worried about dirt and grime from my clothes, sweat etc. Kinda get gross at work. I have dropped a drop of coffee on the seat here or there (3m thank you). Do you think that would go through? How would you rate the durability of the covers? Thanks! BTW, where did you get yours from if I may ask?

 

Its okay for light stuff, protecting against seat wear due to jeans, dust a little dirt, sweat etc, but protecting against drink spills (it will go trough) etc etc I say go for neoprene, Neoprene will protect better and will be easier to clean.

 

I have the Cover King Neoprene seat covers and love them. I spilled about half of a 20oz coffee on them the other day no damage at all. They fit great as well. Takes a while to put them on because they are fit so well. I bought them through Costco's site and saved about $60.

 

When I had my RC I got a pair of Wet Okles. After 3 years they were still brand new. I traded in the '06 RC for a '10 AC and they went along with it .... the dealer bumped the trade-in a bit.

 

I'm thinking of going with the spacer mesh too because I find the neoprene way too hot. But like it's been said, then I lose the protection of the neoprene.

Any one think I could get the best of both worlds by putting the spacer mesh on top of the neoprene covers? Sounds kind of absurd but what do yall think?

 

I don't think the coverkings will fit over the neoprenes. I would just spray the seat with scotchgard, install a cheap seat cover like the one on ebay and then the install the coverking over it.

Also, I take back what I said before, the other day it was raining real hard, I got in the truck in a hurry closed the umbrella and threw it in the seat, then put it in the floor mats and noticed I had left the seat cover pretty wet, so I thought shit! the seat, I lift the seat cover and touched around with my hand and to my surprise the seat was not wet at all, the seat covers have a little bit of padding so it can absorb a little water before letting it go trough it. So in my opinion if your clothes are a little wet or you are sweaty I think the seat cover will do well, for something extreme like pouring liquid over the seat cover, I wouldn't be so sure./

I would honestly like to replace the OEM upholstery with either vinyl or leather, but I haven't seen anyone offering it, unless obviously I take it to a place to have it custom made.

 

yeah i gotta pick up some of the scotchgard. I thought about replacing it too but like you said it'd have to be custom aka mucho dinero. Good to hear that they mesh still protects the seat. Thanks for the quick reply.
