Yea man thats a tough call from where you are, but whats cool is that area has riding year round. I remember going to bailey bike park when it first opened and man that was so huge to hit it in the off season, I can only imagine how crazy that area has gotten thanks to Neko.

Haha Ironically, Bailey isnt too far from windrock, so if I ever go to windrock I could make a weekend out of it and hit Bailey too ha. I think windrock rents out Trek sessions which is badass. The thing that has kept me is that they dont rent small frame bikes, so my wife is either stuck riding her trail hardtail or a bike thats too large for her :/

I bought a couple year old DiVinci Wilson for $1100 before last season. Couldn't be happier. Plus it saves my uberbike from the harsh realities of #IOnlyRidePark

Sounds like you need to find a local place to "freeride". Ever seen the 50-01 videos? They just pick a wooded hill, and mentally map out a line and have a blast. Get a few buds if they ride, and just spend a day being kids again.

Alternatively, if you have a college campus around you, they make great urban DH areas as long as you are safe about it.

Yea man and just having a bike you can get more accustomed to helps as well knowing what the condition of components are and stuff.

I love a good park day, but a lot of the best stuff around here is solidly in the "earn your turns" category.

Haha. There is a secret strava line on the BYU campus that is nothing but skinny ass stairways and a construction site. It's legit terrifying to ride because you have like 6 inches to a foot of clearance between your bars and the handrails. You can always tell who's about to hit it because you have all the student townie bikes, then you see a dude on a Bronson+ level bike and a fullface. The bikecops have figured this out too, but they can't hang on their Schwinns.

Any of the local Knoxville bike shops will rent you a DH bike, too.

Hah! I didnt check to see if there was a strava line on my campus. That kinda brings me back to my skateboarding days of dodging the bike cops on campus. I normally will talk to the local skaters while im on campus because theres a bunch of good skate spots there too. I normally hit the double stair sets. There is one really good jump on campus but its like right in the middle of a common area and theres always people EVERYWHERE hah

Nice! That makes me feel a lot better. Gotta hand it to ya... really are the tacomaworld windrock guide hahah

I love that place. Rode MTB there last weekend and I'll be there wheeling my truck this weekend. I wouldn't mind buying a home in the area eventually

Same here. I think Windrock is a Gem that is rare to have in Tennessee, especially if you come over to my side... Im in the almost halfway point between bentonville and windrock. Its 5 and a half hours from me to bentonville, and 5 and a half hours from me to windrock hah

I've got a pal in Bentonville I think I'm going to try and visit after getting married in July. Would be a fun long weekend trip I think

I've heard it's no destination but worth a weekend for sure

Loading up the bikes for another trip to Ray's Indoor MTB Park. Anyone else happen to be headed there this weekend? We're riding Friday and Saturday (they are closed on Sunday for Easter). #RoadTrip

We were there a couple weekends ago as well. Gotta get these last indoor rides in before we're forced to enjoy nature....

I'm fortunate to work at the local ski, in the winter as ski patrol and in the summer as bike patrol. So every Saturday June->Sept it's bike park time. I'm in Minnesota so the hills aren't real big but 350' of vertical can still make for fun downhill trails when you have the lift to get you back up. I looked at the YT Tue before deciding to drop stupid money on a Santa Cruz V10 29'er. Supposed to arrive at the end of May. I'll post up some pic's once it's here.

If anyone here is in Twin Cities area and want's to get some downhill in, look me up. A trip up to Duluth and the Spirit Mountain park is also worth it.
