    Oh yea, I agree.
My 1st lift on this truck was 881's in front with stock shocks, stock uca's.

The rear was just a toytec aal on stock springs.

It was great for what I needed at the time and was probably less that $350 for everything and did everything I wanted it to do.

Guess everyone just needs a plan for what they want atm and what that want to achieve later on down the road.

As others have mentioned, the full Old Man Emu kit is a great option for our trucks.

Contact Josh @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc - give them a call or message them directly. Let him know your on Tacoma world and need some advice on a lift for your truck. The folks over there will get you squared away. Very good customer service and patient with questions. Will also save you a few bones since you're coming to them from the forum.

Start your search here: You're looking at either 881 or 882 springs but you'll want that armor up front when installing the stiffer spring.

If you're going to be carrying 200+ lbs in the rear, consider the AAL option as well.

If you are planning on sticking to 265/70 or 265/75 tires and the stock wheels, then you'll be fine with stock UCAs. If you want to run a bigger tire, consider the SPC UCAs.

Might also consider replacing the Dakar front hanger bushings with the Daystar greasable option... not a requirement but some have.

That's about all l can think of.

    Good luck!

    $1600??

There's one for ~$1200. Not sure about one for $1600... This has an option for some SPC upper control arms (for a total of ~$1700). But you may not even "need" new control arms. Some people have trouble getting their truck aligned after lifting it 3", in which case UCAs are usually the solution. But I always suggest to people to get the lift first and get it aligned, if it aligns, great! no need to spend the extra money (you really aren't saving that much money OR time by buying them separately).

As for spring rates for added weight that you don't have (yet), that's a tough one. If you get the spring rate for a heavier load now, not only will it ride really rough, but it will give you way more lift than you expect, too (stiff springs don't compress as much). So you'd end up driving around with a stiff ride for who knows how long until you get your bumpers, etc... If you're just waiting until next month's paycheck, I'd say do it.

For me, when I got my Kings, I decided to get the 650# coils ("normal" weight) even though I knew at some point I'd be getting a bumper/winch etc... My thing is I had no idea how long it would take for me to get my bumper/winch so I opted for the normal springs. Now that I have a bumper/winch, I'll probably crank the coils up for now, but I really should get new coils sooner rather than later.

What price range are you shooting for? Now that we’ve moved beyond rough country junk, I think any of the other lifts mentioned here will suit you well.

Cheapest quality is bilstein 5100 with stock springs and a rear shackle, then 5100 with OME Springs and AAL, then the skies the limit. Good luck!

He might be including the shipping cost. That OME setup is $335 to ship to my zip code.

Ok guys, I talk to a few guys and I'm going to take everyone advice to cry now with the price and be happy later, then crying later regretting not going to high quality. Im almost close into pulling the trigger on the King lift kit, its going to hit my build budget but I know I'm going to be happy on the long run. What you guys think. I won't be happy unless the community gives me a thumbs up lol .. I have respect for everyone here you thought and approval does matter

That’s a very nice set, you’re gonna love it! Do the coil overs come assembled? Some places have it as an option. I highly recommend paying to have the coil overs assembled if it’s an option.

    yikes.

I ordered my kings etc... from downsouthmotorsports, and iirc, the shipping was very reasonable. I don't remember having an aneurysm.

The ride is awesome. On and off road. Like butter. I was out drivng the trails with a friend in his nearly identical doublecab (with my old 5100s actually). I was in the lead and romping around some forest roads going a decent clip, but I wasn't really hammering it. Came to a split so I stopped and waited for my friend. And waited. It was a good 2 or 3 minutes later he finally shows up talking about how he couldn't catch me and kept "finding the bumpstops". Apparently, $1000+ coilovers perform better than $150 ones, lol...

    Swaybar link??

Nah I took that crap off...

Seriously, I don't have one anymore. I get a *little* bit of body roll on the corners (street), but only if I try. If it were still my daily driver, I might still have the sawybar, though.

This was like 7 years ago now, but it was downsouthmotorsports (vendor here). The shocks (all 4) were like $299 I think and the shackles were another $50 or $60. Not really a "kit" per se...

I also got a TW member discount I think the shocks are normally $340 or something - not sure if they still do that, but I still got that discount when I got my Kings and UCAs a year or so ago, too.
