Put in work today. I'm fucking wiped. I blame my current health issue because it's not usually this bad. I started losing steam after the first side, and it just went down from there. Anywho... enough of my whining. On to the work.

Installed @glorifiedwelder gussetted spindles, 2010+ 4Runner front brakes with OEM dust shields, and @05Taco4x4 hubs/bearings. Also, retorqued the rear suspension (u-bolts, shocks, and leaf spring/shackle bolts).

Behold the wonders of engine braking. Original stock brake pads with nearly 120,000 miles on them.

    Passenger side done.

Caliper peaking out. Fills out the wheel pretty well.

Random whole truck shot waiting for the pizza place to open after we finished. Only took 7 hours.

Finally got my new radio installed. The Joying unit that I bought is a nonstandard DIN size, so it has been a struggle. I bought a Metra dash kit from a member and tried modifying it. That didn't work out, so I bought the CarAV 11-114. The radio face fit the dash kit, but none of the screw holes in the side plates lined up. Luckily, one of the guys at the job I just left has a 3d printer at his house, and he made me a set of custom side plates. He also printed a spacer to fill the gap between the dash kit and radio face.

Oddly, the CarAV dash kit doesn't use the factory bolts. It just snaps in with trim clips. Hopefully, it holds up, and the PLA that the side plates are printed from doesn't soften and sag in the heat.

You must be pretty pumped. My girl's Xterra is the basic bitch option and man dropping in a real radio with satellite and stuff totally changed the drive forever. Hard to believe she ever had it in there to begin with now.

Yeah. It's pretty nice. I cut the antenna cable when I put on the fiberglass and removed the rest of the cable so no radio, but the bluetooth works great for streaming. I drove around a couple hours today.

I didn't run the microphone, but the one built into the front of the radio seems to work well when I took a couple calls while I was driving.

Damn thats one way to do it...I just bent my antenna and rotated the base that used to stick out of the fender to be horizontal so the antenna still works. That said I havnt really used my radio since.

The antenna wouldn't come apart where it feeds through and attaches to the fender. It was going to be fucked either way, so I just cut the cable.

I've started tracking my gas mileage again, since I have the speedo calibrator installed and programmed. I'm mid-move right now and drove 800 miles in the last 2 days. So far, I'm getting 14-17 mpg running at 65-80 mph (mostly 70-75). The 14 mpg tank was today fighting a headwind. The 17 mpg tank was before I left, and I was mostly running at 65 mph.

Doesn't seem too shabby given the mods.

How do you like your LCE exhaust, notice any power difference? And was it loud before adding the resonator?

Sooo loud. That's why I had the resonator put in. If I drove more than 60-90 minutes before the resonator, I'd start getting a headache from the noise. It still has some noise to it, but it killed the drone on the highway. Now I can drive as long as I want without the exhaust noise getting to me.

I did the LCE header and exhaust at the same time, so I'm not sure how much difference it made. I did notice a difference at the time with the combo.

Thanks for the heads up! The youtube video of their exhaust sounded loud af so i can only imagine..

I really want a little more power but i dont want it loud.. might add another muffler before it. How loud is it relative to stock with the resonator?

I added the lce header and i am running stock exhaust. I didnt notice any difference in noise. Truck runs better and smoother, but not any louder

With the resonator, it isn't too much louder than stock when it's idling, once it warms up. The noise definitely ramps up quick when you're accelerating though.

My main complaints with the system are that the stainless rusts easily if you're anywhere that they salt. Mine is pretty gross after a couple years of living on the east coast. It's also one size fits all, so you have to cut the pipe from the cat to the muffler to size. I cut mine short, so I had to have the joint welded to seal the massive exhaust leak. The hanger for the section of pipe after the muffler has no stopper on it to keep it in the rubber hanger, so it slips out and hangs loose. It's easy enough to rehook it, but it's annoying having to do it every so often.

Those fuckers at IPOR are at it again. They lost the CC disputes, so now they've hired a lawyer to try to collect the money. Five fucking months after the disputes closed! I already called the CC company to ask if they could do anything to assist. They said that since they reached out to IPOR and IPOR agreed to the dispute that they should have no legal leg to stand on. The CC is sending me all their documentation on the dispute the provide to their lawyers.

Not sure if I should retain my own lawyer at this point, but it might not be a bad idea.

@LocoLocal You think the CC company is right?

That’s an interesting question and an interesting situation. I would need to see the documentation they are referencing before I could give you a definite answer. I would also like to see the contract you signed with IPOR. The CC card company may be right but they are not a judge or arbiter so I wouldn’t put too much stock in their thoughts. After all, they are on tour side. At the same time, IPOR doesn’t have a judgment against you so the wording of the letter that I can see peaks my interest. I will text you my work email address and we can go from there. I’m happy to talk about it and we can figure out if official representation is in order. I give a TW discount!

This gets me salty too man...those fuckers already got away with so much and then they try to pull this after the fact. I hope they are dead in the water and are only hoping they can scare you into a payment. Would be funny to see them more in the hole after all this for this attempt. I know I wished I didn't pay with my debit card so I could have also disputed them to a degree, but damn man these guys just don't die.

This seems like a generic letter. I had an HOA send me something similar and when I called the lawyer to release some frustration, he explained that he was paid 75 dollars to write a letter and had no other knowledge or stake in the matter. You paid someone to fix their work correct? Would they be willing to write you a letter that reflects their services were required to repair the prior work provided by IPOR?

Yeah. I had another shop fix the issues. I'd have to ask about the letter. It was 4WP in Richmond that fixed the truck up. @Fish12South is the store manager.

That attorney should be disbarred. That's a terrible breach of his duty to his client. I would agree it's a shitty practice to write a letter in a matter you know nothing about, but to sell your client out that quick is equally as shitty in a professional sense.

I think we should all be mindful about what we are saying on a public forum about this case, because if it does end up in Court, I wouldn't be surprised if these "communications" are brought up.

    Bump from the dead...

Closed on my first house today, so I'll have true dedicated space to work on the truck. I thought the 1-car carport was going to be enough at the place that I've been renting, but there was no room once the truck was in there.

The new house has a detached 32x38 insulated/conditioned shop with 9' ceilings, a half bath, and a couple of built in benches.

Obligatory front of house picture with sold sign.

    Inside of shop pictures :yay:

Congrats. Hopefully, you got a good deal.

I think I did pretty good. Our agreed price was almost 13k under their asking price, and the appraisal came back about $7.5k over our agreed price.
