What kind of paint are you using on the MDF? I'm building a table and was planning to do the top in MDF.

Guess, I did skip a couple details. The MDF is pre-primed ultralight trim and I will be using a mid-grade SherwinWilliams semi-gloss paint, hand applied (no airless spray this time around).

Started my kitchen backsplash today. Finished about 2/3 of it.
Been slow going. My wife gave birth to our daughter 11 days ago, so I’ve been taking care of her and our 2 year old son full time.
Plan is to finish backsplash Monday. Grout Tuesday. Finish painting the last 6 cabinet doors.

Has anybody solved this problem? I want a "laser beam" style light sensor that turns on the light only when the beam is broken. My new house has a master bedroom walk in closet that has the switch on the outside. I like the idea of a light that turns on instantly when I cross the threshold, and doesn't have a bunch of false motion triggers. (especially when I'm stumbling to the bathroom in the middle of the night)

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.

Put one of these on the inside of the closet.

Problem with that is, the laser wouldn't know the difference between in or out.

They have switches you can wire in to the door jamb (hinge side) that will turn on anytime the door is opened. Kind of like a refrigerator.

setup a smartthings hub, replace your existing switch with a zwave switch that looks like your normal light switch, and put a motion sensor inside your closet above the door looking downward. that way it only triggers when you walk into the closet. This also sets you up to more automation options around your home.

    total cost $120ish.

GE panel, not sure of the model.
I’ve already picked up a replacement breaker and wire brush but our neighbor is an electrician so I’m going to ask him to look it over and ensure a simple clean and swap will be fine.
