The wheel in the back was a loaner since I blew a tire the day before.

 

2005 Nissan Sentra 5-spd. 396,000 miles and still going strong when I sold it for $800.
Before that, a 94 Sentra, 84 Honda Prelude, 95 Pontiac Grand Am, 86 Nissan Maxima

 

Oh snap! At least you got an upgrade out of it

Haha yea you could say that. I thought i was gonna wreck the day before when a piece of metal blew up my back tire and wheel too. I was already bummed about paying a tow truck, and having to potentially pay for a new set of wheels since my back wheel's metal was torn up. I even paid a welder to fix up the wheel to see if it was salvageable too.

Good news is insurance gave me $8K for an old '07 civic si with 160K miles on it, which I promptly put towards a vehicle I can actually do something with.

 

That's a pretty damn good amount

 

In SoCal I know I could have sold a clean Si for higher than online estimates pinned it for, but even I thought I wouldn't get more than $7K. I'm sure my custom wheels and $100 Android head unit posing as the "Navi package" may have helped...but I think the adjuster who was amazed I was alive and walking around after seeing my car (and meeting my 9 year old) may have helped me out with his value assessment.

 

Still a great amount for a wrecked on. How much was insurance?

I loved that car. But...it was getting up there. I drive 45 mile one way every day to work. The AC had gone out and the clutch was starting to slip. It just worth putting more money into at that age and mileage. I was hoping to hit 400k before I got rid of it, but I was bitten by a Taco...
