Have you guys ever considered making a unit that runs two power levels? Something more stock “street legal” and then a second mode that is full power.

Damn June is far away, pretty sure one of my morimotos is dying. Going to have to throw the stockers back in until then. Would it be possible to guy buy a setup now and then buy the SAE lenses to swap in when they're released?

The issue isn't power, it is the "spread" and light hitting oncoming drivers in the eye.

A Hi/Lo mode would be cool on the Squadrons. It's not something we plan to offer but that could always change down the road. We do offer some lights in the XL series with this feature as well as the OnX6.

The Lo mode doesn't make the light street-legal currently. It just reduces the output for high glare situations or when you don't need full power :)

I don't have exact details regarding "upgrading" existing lights. It will most likely be a little more involved than just a lens swap. The internals will change a little. We plan to offer upgrade options but I don't have specific details just yet.

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you know if they will fit on the Fog Light Kit (SKU 447110)?

The SAE approved lights are designed to work on 447110 and other vehicle specific kits that accept the Squadron. We are releasing these in White and will hopefully have Amber on the way. I'll try to get more details shared soon

right now I use the squadron sports like brights on rainy/foggy/dark nights. I'd looooove to have the same level of power but have cut offs, so I can just leave them on.

Baja Designs | SAE Approved Lighting | 4/25 UPDATE

Our team is working hard to release the SAE approved lighting. The ETA is currently set for June. White will be the first color released. We are currently working on getting the Amber finalized. I hope to start Pre-Orders soon. Please keep an eye out for details!

Note: There will NOT be an SAE Lens Kit available. SAE approved lights use a completely different lens and optic compared to the normal Squadron. Customers will have the option to send their light in to be upgraded, I hope to share pricing and other details soon.

Guys, I’m considering purchasing the squadron amber fogs...but correct me if I’m wrong...the ones out now are not street legal and I should wait until these new ones come out?
