Too many boards inside the house. Taking them to live in the garage now.

Did you grab that off their craigslist ad? I've been eyeing grabbing one of their logs

I sure did. $450 with fins brand new. It was a steal. Hoping to score a afternoon sesh on Thursday to test it out. If not I’ll be going to San O Saturday

Whipped up this little cave dweller this weekend. 5’6”x19.5”x2.25”. It’s got a pretty flat rocker profile, I kept the thickness through the nose to get a bunch of forward volume. The rails are pretty tapered in the back, and get progressively fuller towards the front of the board to make it a little more forgiving.

Now to decide on a glassing schedule and color.

Went to Goldenwest this morning. Brought the wrong board but it was still fun. Good, clean sets. Bit off shore winds. Maybe chest-head high waves. Just slow rollers though, had a tough time getting in to them. Didn't help that I've been inactive due to hurting my back 2 weeks ago. But the waves I caught were great. All solid 3 turn waves which I don't get enough of in HB. Going to San O on Saturday to surf the new 9'6 if anyone wants to meet up

Noob to surfing. Been using an 8ft costco wavestorm but its getting the job done and i'm progressing! Looking to switch to a fiberglass board maybe a 7'8"-7'-6".

Id say dropping down to a 7'6 will be cool, look for a funboard shape...something with a high performance tail and an eggy kinda shape...any surf shop will point ya in the right direction. Go too small and you will have a steep learning curve, but greater rewards in the end.

Yup. I think I surfed once on my buddies dad's 10ft board, fell in love but didnt want to longboard so got a 6ft board. Boy was that a frustration filled few months while learning how to just go straight

Yeah you really gotta want it haha cause the ocean is gonna deny ya for a bit...I didnt ride a longboard till 4 years ago lol pretty much after 15 years, my friend finally convinced me they are fun, and they are in smaller waves. The shortboarder in me will die hard in my old age lol

Glad I kept at it. Ain't no better feeling than a fun wave on the shortboard. Longboards are alright like you said for the smaller days, but just never quite as fun as short boarding. But hey, any day spent in the water is better than day not in the water!

I don’t longboard a lot, but when I do, I always wish I did more. It’s like the fundamentals of surfing. It slows down surfing to the point where I can focus on where to be in the wave, and how to set up the next section. Not to mention that nose riding is second best feeling in surfing.

Always! The way I look at it is if it puts a smile on your face, and you're not burning people, you're doing it right!
