    i still have not been able to do it.....very hard and I am afraid I will break it off or shatter the windscreen

    You literally just grab a hold of the mirror from both sided and lift up. If you look behind the mirror there is a bar, you can also just grab the middle of the bar and push up.

    I do recall a guy breaking his windshield trying to move it, I just wait till after my truck has been sitting in the sun on a hot day before moving it.
