2TR-FE Rebuild/Refresh

It doesn't go straight into the intake on the Mini. I just need to make a plate and weld a tube on.

I'm curious what the long term effects of Turbo would be on the 4.0. Man would I love to get up and go on the highway!

 

yeah @05Taco4x4 does good work. I like his build but this is more of a hmmmm free charger..... budget build anyone?

Don't get too excited. HP Tuner and OV offer nothing for the 2TR.

I think Id be interested to maybe throw an adjustable rising rate fpr on it and quick fab up the setup to proof out if the blower would even work. That way id be into it for a very minimal amount.

 

Might reach out to URD and see if you can get a custom tune.

Well that prevents any idea of cheap. After some math. I'm pretty sure it is too small anyway.

 

Sorry, just got home from softball. It was my first experiment with boost, was going with the two MAF and Wideband calibrators but after seeing it only put out 2 psi I didn't and scratched it all and tried my hand at a turbo build. I had a PLX setup to monitor the boost and wideband.
At minimum, I'd say you need a way to see what boost it's putting out after install and if you're happy with it then pull the trigger on all the supporting electronics. If not then you aren't out much. I would almost bet my pension HP Tuners offers for 2TR before end of year, if not end of summer.

 

And for the record, I'm still tossing around the idea of twincharging

 

Looks like the mini charger is a 730cc. I ran that through a boost calc but it basically makes nothing. However the same calc but with a 1.6l didn't show the 20psi he gets so something may be missing.
