    Until fall, which we’ll both be excited about not for about 5 weeks and then sad again.

    I haven’t read the books, but the guy who plays the Night King apparently said there’s a singular target he’s after south of the wall. That would imply it was no one he saw north of the wall when they were all up playing tag.

    I know there’s a lot of characters / mythology in the books regarding Stark family lines / who the Night King likely is (historically) / yada yada.

    I feel like five episodes won’t be satisfactory to flesh all this out amidst battles.

    yeah I haven't read the books either, but I was told by someone that has read the books that this season is all new information that was never written because George R.R. Martin didn't finish the last book before it came out.

    He's handwritten most of both books. He has a crazy process. He's still got a ton of editing left to do, if you believe him.

    I'm a subscriber to the theory that GRRM is a dick - he's completed both books and is just fucking with us. I could be wrong, but for some reason I think he's having a laugh at our expense.

    I don't think anyone can debate against that, seeing as how this whole story/show was from his mind and it's really REALLY fucked up sometimes....so nothing says he's not just as screwy as the whole story is lol

    HBO is in the process of filming a prequel...if it gets picked up. They had five scripts written, selected one and are filming the pilot. It’s set 5,000 years prior to what we’re watching now....before the wall, before Kings Landing, etc. Naomi Watts will play one of the characters.

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    going back, i believe some story lines in season 5 were already completely new territory. even before that, they were merging character's story lines. season 1 was definitely the "most true" to the corresponding book. he supposedly told them how he wanted the endings, but not how to get there. leaves him open to write completely different paths for everyone.
