What would cam gears really accomplish?

The stock cam phasing allows for some of the spent exhaust to remain in the cylinder for the next cycle. This helps with emissions. However, it also heats up the incoming air/fuel charge and deprives the cylinder of 100% make up air. The cam gears alter the phasing to allow all the gasses out and should help with power. Many think this is where a good portion of UCON's power came from, but it also helps to prevent preignition.

@JustDSM Id love some gears to go with my ucon to sell. Maybe the place you have doing it would take all the spare stockers lying around and repurpose them

That's what I've been threatening to do. Cut an offset keyway opposite the stock one! I'm going to do it....unless we get a good price on new ones.

It means you’ve received a clean copy of the TRD flash from the HP Tuners server.

    You’re good to go.

3WYG41 is the TRD flash calibration ID for your truck.

Whoa, hold up now.....You don't need exhaust gears to have massive benefits from a tune. The ucon/X1 used them because they were pushing the limits with other blower/forced induction systems. Most guys in here want cam gears because their UCON, which they are transitioning from, is basically a brick with out them. You don't even need upgraded injectors, this is only for the folks that are going to push their tunes and setups beyond the 415hp range. I don't know what your goals would be, but you don't need to go crazy to benefit from the tuner.....

Injectors are are necessary dependant upon brake HP. Currently. Basing future size mathematically off of future HP goals, datalogs, and having sufficient overhead percentage to not max them out. Boom boom.

You could get a brand new kit minus the shitty Bullydog tuner for $4200 or so.

Guys, I’ve just heard back from Fuel Injector Clinic. They are hooking us up on pricing. Waiting to hear back to get permission to post the prices publicly.

Currently the list is 12 people. As long as we get at leas 10 we can get the highest discount level.

I am planning to purchase a magnuson, headers, exhaust, and proper intake soon, and tuning stuff apparently. I’m still in planning stages though and y’all keep adding to my plans. But this is a dd truck, not a hot rod, so reliably and economy are still a priority.
