I agree with you here. That's why I have 8 threads showing on mine and also went with a C load Nitto Ridge grappler. Although I have 700lb springs on mine.

Edit: I was curious about your setup because I've seen people here ask about noises and was wondering if you were experiencing the same thing.

Yeah luckily I haven’t experienced that but I truly think it’s because of too much preload and some may be coil binding

Just upgraded our customer to a FabFours Premium bumper with full grill guard. It came with LED fogs and turn signals made into the bumpers. This thing was heavy! We previously had installed the King front and rear with adjusters with standard 600lb spring, Toytec AAL in rear, Total Chaos UCA's set at 13 threads driver and 11 passenger and was at 24" hub to fender front and 25" rear.
When the bumper was ordered we also ordered new 650lb springs. We installed them and lowered preload to 7 threads driver and 5 passenger. With the bumper installed we ended up at 23" front hub to fender and still 25" rear. He is going to add a Leer topper and some gear in the rear so we will see how it sits after that before making final adjustments.

One thing to note, with the 24" hub to fender setup and our 17x9 +1 offset with 285/70r17 Ridge Grapplers it barely cleared the body mount on both sides. At 23" now it rubs the passenger side body mount when in reverse and turning right. Drivers side does not rub.

This truck has a cruise and pedestrian radar in the Toyota grill emblem. There is a little yellow light on the dash that stays illuminated letting you know that the radar isn't active. It's not as bright or annoying as a TPMS light, I barely noticed it. Nothing comes across the display after driving it for 30 miles or so, but if you activate cruise it will let you know that the radar isn't active and needs to be cleaned. Cruise won't activate that way. You can hold the cruise down for 2 seconds and that activates standard cruise control without the radar and that avoids having any errors pop up and cruise works fine, just without radar.

I’m lucky so far, I’m sitting at just about 23” hub to fender with castor close to 3 and no rub on cab mount on either side at full lock. I’m sitting on 17x8.5 -10 offset with 285/70/17 BFG KO2s. I thought that having a positive offset would help more with no rubbing. Of course I’m sure mine will potentially rub fully compressed when off-roading on a turn. So far I’ve hit driveways at a decent speed and turning and no rub. Only been on this setup for 2 days

Edit 4/24: finally rubbed on the cab mount on the passenger side. Doesn’t rub full lock in reverse on even ground on either side. The only time I’ve ever rubbed is full lock in reverse going down the driveway when hitting the dipped part and only passenger side. Not too bad but time for some CMC

The +1 offset would help some, but these being a 9" wide negates that somewhat so they will be very similar setups. Mine doesn't rub any time I've found going forward, but in reverse the passenger side rubs pretty good. I'm surprised driver and passenger were that much different being at the same height.

That is interesting. I’m probably gonna do CMC anyways just for safety measures but at least I don’t feel rushed right now since it hasn’t yet.

This thread was incredibly useful for helping me make this purchase. Hopefully my results will help others too.
    JBA UCA’s
King 650lb EXT w/o adjusters in front
King standard w/adjusters in rear +2” AAL
Without making any adjustments the shocks lifted the front 1-3/4”. I turned the collar 1 and a half turns to bring the front up to a total of 2”. Results with 1-1/4” rake.

The AAL’s are from Low Range Off Road. They gave me the full 2” of advertised height. The ride quality these shocks provide are incredible.

I was after a more compliant and controlled day to day ride without experiencing nose dive and the constant jouncing I encountered with the stock OR shocks. Could not be happier. Going to test them out this weekend for their off road feedback.

Got the replacements in and installed. Went from standard Kings with 600# springs:

    To extended travel with 700#

Smooth as silk across Omaha streets, and have me 2”. I am gonna mess around a bit, but I plan on dropping the front a little bit to give me a little bit of rake after everything settles in. Thanks everyone for pointing out what had gone wrong and helping me narrow down the problem.

I may try and adjust my 700s today. I just added a Mobtown HC w/ swingout so I put the icon rxt to option #3. I don't think I'll be able to level it, but will see. I have a full set of steel skids coming, which sort of makes me hesitate...

I have this set up, but w/o adjusters (which don't add to the overall height anyway). The key is your springs vs added weight to the truck. I have #650 springs on my dclb 4x4 with front aluminum skid and sliders and I only had to pre load to five threads on each side to sit level. No taco lean. Hope this helps.

Woohoo. I just joined club! Got a set OEM Kings front and back with resis’ and adjustment knobs. They came with 600 springs. So down the line I’m going to a 700. Ideally I’d like to get 2.5” of lift at both ends. But at the moment I need upper control arms. Any recommendations? I was looking at the billet setups but for the price I can’t justify the weight savings. So I’m thinking LSK or Baja Kits. Remind me these are 6” not 8” of travel right?

I might have a slight discount and I’m mean slight on icon stuff. I haven’t checked out SPC. I don’t like the tubular setups but for the money I’m sure that’s where i’ll end up. Thanks for the recommendations.
