All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Got the same setup about to go in. Odessey vs X2 Power. Thoughts?

Works gud! Easy enough to install and all quality.

I decided to go with the battery OGE recommend. I might have gone Northstar and saved a few bucks if I did it again

You’ll like that battery. I’ve had mine for like 4 years and no issues.

What’s everyone thought on LCA skids??? Needed, not needed, wise investment, bad investment?
I’m running full skids with the exception of lca’s and a rear diff.
Was always told the Lca’s skids weren’t needed. Just curious of the group thought.

Nah you’ll be fine unless you can get them for a deal. I have them but I got them pretty cheap.

I’ve found a set used for a 100$. I believe new they go for 150. The catch is, the set is in Chattanooga.

I'd get a diff skid before LCA skids. I kind of put LCA skids on the same level as all the tacti-cool stuff. Is it nice to have? Sure. Is it something that is necessary? Not really.

Look at your LCA now. Is it scraped or dented? I'm guessing probably not (although, I noticed that mine are....somehow...seriously, though....I haven't done any hardcore offroading....forest service roads at worst and mine are scraped to.....nevermind).

I have heard that the Tacoma LCAs are weaker than other Toyota LCAs. I've been told that you can pick up the FJ cruiser LCAs from someone who went LT and get a much beefier LCA. I've also heard that the LCA skids will help to stiffen/strengthen the LCA.

Now that I've rambled my thoughts on TW, I vote to get them. I don't see it hurting anything except maybe your wallet, but doesn't sound like that is much of a concern.

    Yes
I was seriously considering them for some time, I would still potentially consider them if I got em for a good deal. I think the biggest factors for me was that I could pick up a brand new set of LCA’s off rock auto for almost the same price of the skids, iirc(granted not OEM). Another factor was that you lose about a half an inch of clearance at the already lowest point on your truck.

Well spend the day in Chattanooga with the wife & baby (if you've got time) then it'll be worth it. But I know getting away for a full day with all 3 of you is probably tough. You might be able to get you to meet halfway :notsure:

@CountryDan , If you do end up going to Chattanooga, let me know. I may have someone up there that wants to buy the suspension that I had on standby for the 4Runner that we sold.

...assuming you don't mind a TW express.

Well, if my neighbor sees me in his backyard with my SlingPot..shit happens ;)

I have a backflow valve that stopped it from coming back into the house, however my GF was running the washin machine and no where for the water to go, except out the basement shower drain!

Right...I bet that would work well. Come back to absolute hell..

In fact I am camping in my own house if I don’t have running water or a bathroom!
All I got is lights and gas

So I originally bought my truck in GA and had it registered there for about two year. Included in the purchase price was ad velorum.

I've moved and register/titled my car in MN.

Does anyone know if I were to move back to GA am I required to pay the ad velorum again? Really shitty if that's the case.
