Slimline/Low Profile bumper other than SSO?

SOS seems to be the closest to rounding out the angles. I also like the shackle mounts don't appear to extend beyond the bumper which makes my knees feel safer.

It's what I have and it's good stuff...I have the hoop however, so it extends outward a bit.

 

Victory 4x4 has a similar one that requires very minimal cutting and can return to factory if needed.

 

Never saw this one in any of the threads when I was looking, really like it.

 

I like that and the minimal cutting is a big plus. If they could mount the shackle mounts lower like the SOS, I might have a winner.

 

I'm obviously a fan of the SSO (that's what I have). I don't understand why Victory 4x4 has their logo so huge, front and center and then the wasted holes on either side. I don't know why these bumper fabricators think we want to advertise their brand 24/7.

Also, there may not be any cutting (or minimal cutting) of the bumper for the Victory 4x4, but looking at the website photos, the metal will most likely rub on the painted plastic. I doubt you'd be able to remove it and go back to stock, without having witness marks left behind.

 

So the SSO is the only one that you don't have to cut?

 

You 100% have to cut for the SSO.

I think the Warn is the only one that cutting is not "required"... but it's still recommended.

Most products have the company logo on them. Your truck has 3 brand logos (TOYOTA, TRD PRO, and TRD) in that image. I also see the Factor 55 logo on your fairlead and endlink. Why would armor be any different?

 

I’m guessing your wheels are 17”, what size tire? And do you have any lift? I’m wanting to go 17” Pro wheels and the 265-70-17 BFG but really worried about rub now that I’m guessing I lost an inch with the bumper/winch. I’m not interested in a lift at all and won’t go 17” if it means I gotta lift any.

 

Toyota, yes, TRD, yes, TRD Pro... nope.



I don't disagree, brands are everywhere, but I certainly don't look to add more. Especially not front and center at the cost of function.

As a manufacturer, I completely understand the desire and purpose of getting your logo/brand out there, but when you're working in the custom car/truck realm, I think you need to accept that people don't want your logo on their vehicle. If you make a good quality and attractive product, a logo isn't as important. There's no logo on my SSO bumper. When people like it, they ask me where it's from and I tell them. If you don't think that works, then you might as well add Mobtownoffroad.com and your phone number to all of your products... just in case a potential customer wants to order one.

 

I have the 17" T4R Pro rims with BFG 265/70/17 KO2's. In the photo I'm sitting on stock TRD Pro suspension, but I've since replaced that with ADS giving a 1.5" lift over stock OR suspension. With the Pro suspension, there was a very MINOR rub on the mud flap when turning and hitting a bump. That probably could have been resolved with an alignment tweak.

 

I get it. Our logo isn't that prominent on many of our products. But at the same time, having a logo show up in everyone's social media photos of their truck is pretty powerful marketing. Sometimes I think we should stick our company name out there more.

 

I'm sure it is hard to determine how far to go to advertise. I am in the camp of buying products that have the ability to remove the logo. I had a fab four bumper, but I will never buy another one because they cut out their logo and won't sell one without it. It is bad enough to have a logo you can't remove, but it also creates a weak spot and after bouncing off a rock and the logo getting mangled, I will look somewhere else.

Some customers love branding, some don't. That's why there are so many choices on the market, and that's a good thing I personally like supporting certain brands and I don't mind rocking their logos. Different strokes and all that.

It really depends on the individual truck if the plastic is going to rub the bumper, but if one absolutely has to have a pristine finish underneath, I would recommend using some adhesive backed rubber strips attached to the plastic bumper on all the contact points. The finish trim on some of the slimline bumpers on the market rubs the coating on the bumper also, so it's not a perfect solution either, it just depends on which the customer wants to deal with.
