They tacked on dealer "processing" and a dealer "fee"? Yeah, no to both.

    Just a driver mod.
Other big mistake is not going at the end of the month.

Seems like there are 2 dealer “fees” listed, they would drop one at least or I’d be checking other places.

OP, do whatever you want but 10% off MSRP plus the tax title license in your state is all I would pay. The sticker is a legal document. It's called the Monroney sticker. It will show the 'delivery' fee. Don't pay it twice.

Got my 17 SR DCSB out the door for 29k (Jul 2017)...convenience and tow package...It was in northern VA and at the end of the month...not sure what state you are in. When I first told him what I would pay they said no but called me back 30 min later and said yes. You could try emailing some of your area dealers to get OTD written quotes...use it as leverage to show other dealers to get them to beat...that is what I did. I would suggest you get convenience and tow package by the way.

Just tell them the number you'll pay. Let them figure out their own line items.

I stood up and put my checkbook in my pocket over an $800 dealer fee, and turned to walk. The sales manager says, I'll lower the price of the truck $800, but I have to leave that line item in place for the accountants.

I call BS, but it really doesn't matter. Price to me was the same either way.

Ive actually told a sales manager to sell me the car for a dollar and that he could add whatever additional fees in he wanted so long as the OTD price did not exceed the amount I was willing to pay. Didn't work and I walked.

No. You’ll be kicking yourself forever if you pay that 32k. Find another dealer. For roughly 3k-4k more you could find yourself in a TRD off road or sport. That SR should be closer to 29K out the door.

My OR MT Double cab was 32,117 OTD. Includes $799 doc fee and 4% sales tax and DMV. Only deductions were $1,000 cash back and $750 military. Just for reference.

When you can pretty consistently get it at the "discounted" price, it's not so much a discount as the MSRP is marked up.

Ford and GM historically have inflated MSRP's in order to make it seem as the customer is getting a terrific deal.

That was more or less my direction. The big boxes around here routinely advertise $14k-$16k off msrp. Getting to be like furniture pricing.

    same shit as everyone else
    "Wow Price"
That sounds like Koons in the DC/Baltimore area. They leave a ton of fees off the total out the door price to suck you in. I ended up getting my 2016 SR5 V6 4x4 DCSB with appearance package and tow package new in 2016 for $33,900.00 from Priority Toyota Springfield VA, out the door with tax/title/processing/etc. Freight, handling, and delivery are included in this price. I think Maryland actually has a law that limits the processing fee to $599. Not that it mattered to me but $899 is a bit steep. Of course they'll make that money up somewhere else. If you do the Costco thing ask the dealer if they do the Costco thing too. Hope this helps.

I bought a new 2018 SR DCSB V6 4x4 with the convenience package for around $29,XXX. I can't be more accurate than that because I had a trade. I am estimating what they actually gave me for my trade and what they actually sold the Tacoma to me for. But $29 thousand something is how the math worked.

First rule is only speak in OTD. That’s the only number that means anything to you.

Second is to do research and decide what your OTD is based on the truck configuration. Communicate that to the salesman and wait.

I was originally quoted 42,500 OTD for my 17 DCLB TRD OR in April of 17. I told him my price is 38 OTD. It took about a day and half and 20 phone calls but eventually they came down to 38,200 and threw in a bunch of accessories to close the deal.

Absolutely! OTD is the only thing that matters.

10% off MSRP is good, as we get closer to summer you can do better as the dealer starts preparing for the 2020s.
